CornCorn is native to North Carolina. The settlers discovered Native Americans already growing corn when they came to America. Most of the corn grown in North Carolina is grown in the Coastal Plains. Corn can be grown in other regions of the state, but the rich soil found in the Coastal Plains is ideal for growing corn.

2WheatThe wheat produced in North Carolina is winter wheat.

Unlike most crops, wheat is planted in the fall and harvested in June. This allows farmers to plant another crop on the same acreage after the wheat has been harvested.

3SoybeansThe top producers are the states of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota. North Carolina in comparison produces about one-tenth of the volume of soybeans produced in Iowa. But North Carolina produces many other crops besides soybeans.

Farmland VideoWe recommend this video to educate everyone to about agriculture. 20

https://youtu.be/-p3BZwJ4xt0CostsThe cost of planting an acre of corn is very costly. The graph outlines each of those expenses.7Color of EggsThe color of a chickens egg is determined by the color of the chickens earlobe. A red earlobe would indicate a brown egg and a white earlobe would indicate a white egg.

3Nutritional Value of an EggAlthough you may hear a lot about how brown eggs are better than white, nutritionally they are the exact same. The majority of eggs are priced differently because of the living conditions of the birds.

Bones in BirdsA chickens bones play important roles in their lives. They have pneumatic bones that are hollow and aid with flight.Chickens also have a keel bone that acts as the center of gravity for the bird.

Poultry NutritionThe basic goal of any poultry nutritional program is to provide nutrients for growth maintenance, and/or production. The most expensive component of poultry diet is protein and the primary ingredient is corn.
