Financial Liberation The Sex, Food and Money Retreat
Introduction This course is an invitation for you to let go of all that
stands in the way of your natural abundance. Over the
next three months, you will be receiving content every
week. This content will gently, yet powerfully, help you
to stretch past whatever your current limitations are
about success and prosperity. You will find yourself
having more abundance in life, and also feeling better
about what you already have. You will also find that your
hang ups around food and sex will start to clear up as
well.
How to get the most from this course Just like with most things in life, the more you put into
this course, the more you will get out of it. You can put
yourself into this course in many ways.

Be Completely Open and Available to All of the Content
I'm not asking you to blindly believe in what you see or
hear. In fact, please do not believe a word I say. I am
simply asking you to view and listen with an open mind
and heart. Parts of this content will challenge you. Parts
will just tickle your fancy. And other parts you may not
want to hear or see. But all of it is designed to help you
to break through and live in a state of natural
abundance. The more open you are to just being present
with yourself and whatever is being presented, the more
you’ll see profound results.
Listen and View and then Listen and View Again
The materials in this course are designed to be listened
to and viewed more than once. So when you get the
MP3’s each week, please download them and listen to
them at least twice before the next week. Please also
view the online video content at least once. If you have
the Platinum version, you will be receiving two different
sets of MP3’s from two different Financial Liberation
Retreats. The videos match one set and the second is
completely unique. If you have the Gold version, you will
be receiving one set of MP3’s only.
Be a Full Participant
You are being invited to share the experience of two
unique groups as they explore this material. Allow
yourself to simply let go as best you can and have the
attitude that you are there with them as an active
participant in the retreats.

Whenever you hear an assignment being given to the
group, assume that I just gave that assignment you.
Suggestions that I gave at the retreats are designed so
that each participant, including you, get the most from
this material.
Also, from time to time, I gave participants individual
assignments. Many of these would be great for you as
well. But you do not need to do all of them. You can tell
if an assignment will benefit you or not by checking your
reaction to it. Very simply, if you either love the
assignment or hate the assignment, I just gave it to you.
Taking Notes
It is fine to take notes; however, I would recommend
that you listen to and watch the material at least once
first while just simply letting the information sink in and
the releases unfold naturally. If you do take notes, I
would recommend that you not try and get every word.
The words are not important; the experience is
important. The things I would write down are the
questions or assignments that you would like to pursue
further—and your own gains and insights.

Assignments The following assignments are designed for you to use
throughout the three‐month course. Experiment with
one at a time, and then keep coming back to your
favorites. If you find that you hit resistance, view it as a
sign to simply keep going. These assignments are
designed to help you supercharge the releasing and
exploring you will be doing throughout the course.
Give Without Wanting Anything Back in Return
Allow yourself to experiment from time to time
throughout your day with giving without wanting
something back in return. You can do this with your
time, with your money, with your expertise or simply
energetically. You can even do simple things like pick up
the check when you're dining with someone who could
use the support. Or make a donation to a worthy cause
anonymously. Or simply reach out with your heart to
someone in need and give them your love and affection.
The more you give without wanting anything back in
return, the better you’ll feel and the more you’ll be
contributing to your family, friends, community and the
planet as a whole. This will open up the energetic flow.

Receive Without Feeling Obligated
If you think about your personal relationships, for
instance, you can probably think of instances where
you've given to people with great expectation, only to
be deeply disappointed. You could also probably think of
situations where you've disappointed others without
meaning to. At the same time, I'm sure there've been
times when you've refused gifts and support because
you didn't want to feel obligated.
Even in commerce, these unconscious internal strings
that come with giving and receiving can really hold us
back. We become suspicious when people are trying to
support us, rather than just simply being open.
Allow yourself to experiment with receiving without
feeling obligated. This can be a little trickier than giving
without expectation. I'm not suggesting that you take
advantage of anyone; just simply allow yourself to be
more open to others who are already wanting to
support you without immediately insisting on bringing
things into balance.
Get Into Action
Many of us get into magical thinking when it comes to
creating what we want with sex, food and money. So
instead of just waiting around for things to change
magically, allow yourself to get into action. Even small
actions taken every day can make a huge difference in
having more money, and a better relationship to sex and
food.

Most of us are waiting for something to change in our
lives before we allow ourselves to be satisfied with what
we have or what we have accomplished. We are afraid
that if we feel satisfied, we will get complacent and not
pursue our worthy goals and fall behind everyone else.
We are programmed to want more and to strive harder.
Yet if you take a few minutes each day to simply allow
yourself to feel some satisfaction with what has been
accomplished and what you already have, you can get
off the wheel of constant striving. So, allow yourself to
be satisfied with what is as best you can. Remember that
does not mean giving up. It’s about allowing what is to
be, in this moment.
Be Grateful
You have probably heard this one before! The more you
feel gratitude for what you already have the more that is
added unto you. This old adage is quite true. So, allow
yourself to spend some time each day feeling and
expressing gratitude around sex, food and money.
Remember that Change Starts from Within
Know that as you do this course, you may see changes
inside before they are reflected outside. So just allow
yourself to be persistent and keep going with the
program. Also, change really starts with the inside, so
know that all the releasing you are doing is very
powerful action towards your goals.
Allow yourself to honor the inner and outer changes as
they occur and remember to write them down as your
gains and insights. When you share with others, it also

helps to reinforce your progress. So, share how you are
changing here in this community and with the people
that you care about.
Look for the Abundance That Is Already Here
Abundance is not just a goal or an attainment; it’s what
is already here now, naturally. Most of us miss this
because we are waiting for circumstances to change
before we notice the abundance that is already within
and around us. If you start to pay attention, you can turn
this around. It also gives the mind something positive to
seek instead of seeking problems as it usually does.
You can do this by simply asking yourself questions like:
“Can I allow myself to find the abundance in these
circumstances?” Or, “Can I allow myself to experience
the abundance that is already here now?” You can also
simply look at what is actually here now, and the
abundance that is here will reveal itself to itself.
Loving It Because It Is the Way It Is
Another way to increase your awareness of abundance
and your feeling of well‐being is to allow yourself to
think about the things you want to change about sex,
food and money, and then simply let go of wanting to
change that. Decide to love what is because it is the way
it is, as best you can.
Note: This does not mean you can’t change what is. This
exercise frees you to change it, if appropriate. Love =
abundance. The more you love what is, the more you

attract abundance, and the more that the world
cooperates with you.
You can ask yourself, “Could I love ___ blank because
he/she/it is the way he/she/it is?”
Just asking yourself this question will often cause a huge
release into love and abundance. By the way, if the
answer is “no,” then simply let go of any feelings that
are here now and then ask again. It will not take you
long at all to get to a “yes,” no matter how long you
have been denying love or abundance with that person
or thing.
Want for the Other What They Want for Themselves
One of the ways that Lester used to define love is
“wanting for the other one what they want for
themselves.” This is sage advice. Most of us want for the
other one what we want for them. And that’s not love
but wanting to control.
If you are wanting to control another’s experience, then
allow yourself to let go of wanting to control their
experience and consciously want for them whatever it is
they want for themselves. This may or may not change
your behavior; however, it can produce a revolutionary
change in your feelings toward them and, often, in their
response to you. This is also the loving thing to do.
Find Mutuality
When we love someone, we naturally gravitate to what
is mutual with the other person. In all your relationships,

you can allow yourself to look for the mutuality that is
already there. This will dissolve many differences.
You can also consciously strive to achieve greater
mutuality by engaging in dialog and exploration with the
other person about what is or is not mutual. Sometimes
what you find out may surprise you, even if you have
been in a relationship for some time.
The goal is to allow yourself and your partner to
naturally find the places where there is already
mutuality, and to move in the direction of finding or
creating other points of mutuality.
Harmlessness
Another way to increase our level of abundance is to do
no harm. This is quite simplistic; however, we, as human
beings, sometimes forget this simple truth and allow
ourselves to do harm when we believe it is justified or
unavoidable. I am not saying do not defend yourself if
you are being attacked. However, we often feel
attacked when we are totally safe and do harm just to
feel safer.
So, if you are feeling like doing harm to yourself or
anyone else, pause and let go of wanting to attack or do
harm until you have a feeling of harmlessness towards
that person. From this place of harmlessness, the
universe rushes in to provide.

exploration or as a way for you to do this work with a
partner. Please do at least one exercise a week. Each

The goal of a group should be to support each
participant in gaining the most that they can from their
use of The Sedona Method. It is important that a safe
space be created in order for everyone to feel free to
participate, yet never to feel pressured to do so. Such
environments are best created when a different group

member is given the opportunity to be the leader each
time the group meets—if they chose to do so. This policy
helps prevent one individual from dominating the group.
It also allows participants to stretch themselves in the
direction of helping others.
Anyone who brings up an emotional or physical issue
that would usually be handled by a trained medical
professional should be encouraged to seek professional
care. Support groups should never be used as a
substitute for competent medical attention, rather as an
aid to each participant’s personal and spiritual growth.
Please have group participants agree amongst
themselves to keep anything of a personal nature that’s
shared during the meeting within the group. This allows
everyone who attends to have the maximum feeling of
safety and comfort. This agreement can be revisited
every time the group gets together.
To provide the maximum support, it is helpful to have a
group meet once a week. If that frequency seems
difficult, meeting once a month is still sufficient and
helpful.
Especially if you are using private residences for your
meetings, it is helpful to rotate locations so that the
burden for hosting the support group is not borne by
one person alone. However, if you can identify a
centrally located, free public location, we encourage you
to use that on an ongoing basis instead.
The following instructions are for the leader of the

Welcome Everyone
Read the following releasing questions aloud for group
participants. Then, allow a few minutes of silence in
order to give everyone an opportunity to become
centered and present in the room. Do your best to
create a safe space for everyone attending.
Group Releasing Questions for the Beginning of a
Support Group
These questions are designed as a guideline. Please get
comfortable using them before you add any of the others
from the book. Alternatively, if someone in your group
has a set of The Sedona Method Audio Program, you
may play a release from the recordings, which you can
then also use as the basis for the exercises in that
support group meeting.
Allow yourself to sit back and make yourself comfortable
as you focus inside. You may close your eyes or keep
them open, whichever you prefer.
Take a deep breath and allow yourself to release any
tension in your body as you exhale.
Scan your body for any other tension or holding on.
(Pause) If there is any tension in your body: Could you let
go of wanting to control it and allow it to release?
Check your body again and see if any part of it is pulling
at your attention. (Pause) If it is: Could you let go of
wanting to control that?

Now, review the last 24 hours and see if there is
anything about those 24 hours that you would like to
change or control. (Pause) If so: Could you let go of
wanting to change or control that?
Is there a person or situation in your life right now that
is stirring up a sense of wanting approval? (Pause) If so:
Could you let go of wanting approval?
Is there anything that you said or did recently that
stirred up a sense of wanting approval? (Pause) If so:
Could you let go of that wanting approval?
Find something in the last 24 hours that still concerns
you. Is the person or situation you just thought of
stirring up a sense of wanting approval, wanting to
control, or wanting security or survival? (Pause) If so:
Could you allow that want to release? (Repeat if
needed.)
Is there anything about being here this evening that is
stirring up any want within you? (Pause) If so, check to
see if it’s a sense of wanting approval, wanting to
control, or wanting security or survival. (Pause)
Whichever want it is:
Could you allow it to release? Check to see if there is
anything about me, as the support
group leader, that stirs up a want within you. Is it a
sense of wanting approval, wanting to control, or

If you came with a specific issue to work on tonight, see
what your NOW want is about that topic. (Pause) Is it a
sense of wanting approval, wanting to control, or
wanting security or survival? (Pause) Whichever want it
is: Could you let it go? (Repeat if needed.)
Now, focus on whatever you want in the moment:
approval, control, or security or survival. (Pause)
Whatever you want: Could you let it go?
Focus again on your NOW want. (Pause) Could you allow
it to release?
Take one more look inside and allow yourself to become
aware of your NOW want. Whichever want it is: Could
you allow yourself to let it go?
Gradually bring your awareness to a more external
focus, and, whenever you are ready, if you haven’t
already, allow your eyelids to open.
Ice Breaker
Have group participants share their names and a gain
that they have each experienced so far from using The
Sedona Method.
Partner Work
Have each person in the group find a partner so they
may support each other in doing an exercise from The
Sedona Method. Select an appropriate exercise from the
book, such as general releasing, the
Advantages/Disadvantages Process, the Likes/Dislikes
Process, and the Cleanup Procedure. Spend
approximately 30 minutes on the exercise. Either have

the partners switch back and forth, taking turns
facilitating each other, or time it so that each participant
has about 15 minutes to do an exploration with the
support of the other partner.
Ask each partner to open their copy of The Sedona
Method to the exercise being explored, so they can
remember the appropriate phrasing of the processes.
Then, before breaking into partnerships, read the
following statement aloud:
Instructions for Partner Work
Be there with, and for, your partners as best you can.
Grant your partners their Beingness by allowing them to
have their own explorations. As you facilitate your
partners in releasing, also do your best to let go. You will
find that this happens naturally if you are open to it.
Refrain from leading your partners, judging their
responses, or giving them advice. Also refrain from
discussing the explorations until you have both
completed them, and you have spent a few minutes in
silence. Be sure to validate your partner’s points of view,
even if these do not agree with your own.
Please refrain from playing the role of counselor or
therapist, even if you are a trained counselor or
therapist. If your partner brings up a medical condition
that would ordinarily require the care of a trained
medical professional, recommend that he or she get
whatever professional support is needed in this area. If
you are not sure whether or not your partner truly
needs medical support, you can recommend that he or
she seek professional medical attention, just to be sure.

Have Group Share
Have volunteers from the group share what they got
from doing the exercise. Make sure that the group
validates their perspectives, and support them in letting
go and moving up into greater freedom.
Sharing Gains
Give the group another opportunity to share gains if
they choose.
Optional Release
If time allows, either read the same group releasing
questions (see page 410) that were read at the
beginning of the meeting—substituting the timeframe of
however long the meeting lasted for the preceding 24‐
hour period—or play another process from The Sedona
Method Audio Program.
Silence
Have the group spend a few minutes allowing their
Beingness to be in silence.
Thank Everyone for Coming
Thank everyone for coming, and encourage the group to
maintain the silence within as they go home or go about
their day. Remind them of the date, time, and location
of the next meeting and suggest that they invite their
friends.
