As we are walking into 2020 with a clear heart and mind, here are a few suggestions for some New Years’ resolutions: If we owe anyone, tell them not to worry about it, just say, you’re welcome. If we have wronged anyone, tell them it’s all right…it was a good lesson learned. If someone is angry with us, tell them that they have won because we have let it go. If somehow we have wronged someone, apologize, it wasn’t intentional. Be thankful for every blessing we have received. Life is too short for pent up anger, grudges, extra pain, or stress. Forgiveness is a gift to you and to everyone else. Make 2020 a year of forgiveness and a year of positivity.

Happy New Year

Time and good friends are two things that become more important with each passing year… Thank you for being my friend,

LIBRARY NEWS BOOK REVIEW: by Linda Mannix, Senior Center Librarian

A LAND REMEMBERED by: Patrick Smith Tobias sat down beside her and put his hand on hers. “Zech needs a companion out here, Emma, and I know you would like to have another baby. But it just ain’t the right time now. Things is too hard for us, and I can’t hardly feed what we got, much less another one. It will get better soon. Someday there’ll be a whole flock of MacIveys. You’ll see.” Here are the three generations of the MacIvey family, from dirt poor crackers to wealthy real estate ty-coons, in an epic picture of the American pioneer will to survive against all odds. Here is the sweeping story of the land, how at first bare survival is scratched from it and then how it is exploited far beyond human need. Here is a rich, rugged history of human need. Here is a rich, rugged history of Florida’s pioneer spirit and natural world. - A wonderful book –

These are important and hard questions, but necessary for your loved one to get the care they need. For example: Does this hospice service provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Are all members of the team (nurses, doctors, social workers, chaplains) available in a crisis situation during the night or on a weekend? Joyce also has a helpful hand-out available for you to use as a guide when accessing Hospice care.
