• Optical Color Mix – small areas of color placed next to each other that blend optically when viewed from a distance.

POST-IMPRESSIONISM - Seurat

Optical color mix originated with Post-Impressionist artist Georges Seurat in the 1800’s. Seurat used tiny dots of color on the wall-size painting allowing the viewer’s eye to mix the colors when seen from a distance.
