Administrator’s Message By eresa Putnam e tree is up and the lights are lit . . . Merry Christmas to our Patrick Manor family, their families and all of our friends! We had a wonderful anksgiving. Not just a delicious dinner but a special time of remembering and being truly thankful for each member of our Patrick Manor family and all of our many blessings. As we turn our attention to celebrating a joyful Christmas I want to invite all of our resident’s families, friends and guardians to please come by for a visit and refreshments. Family and friends are so very important to all of us throughout the year and especially important this time of year. You are always welcome to visit anytime that is convenient for you but I encourage you to make this Christmas special for our family by visiting us during this happiest of seasons. DECEMBER 2017 STAFF SPOTLIGHT Velinka Gotovac, Housekeeping Supervisor Velinka Gotovac, her husband and their two daughters moved to the United States from Bosnia in 2001. She began working at Patrick Manor in 2007 and is now the Supervisor of Housekeeping. She enjoys her work and loves the residents. Velinka’s greatest joy comes from spending time with her family. She has two daughters that she is very proud of. She was able to go back to Bosnia this year to visit her family for an extended vacation. It was the first time in a long time and she had a wonderful time. Resident Council Meeting - Council President, Jim Baker, called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017. 19 residents joined eresa and Chef Rafael to provide feedback and suggestions. Discussions began with the departments review. Housekeeping was given accolades for excellence; rooms and gathering areas are always neat and clean. e Care Staff was also complimented for their outstanding work; everyone expressed appreciation for the compassionate and professional care given to them by the Care Staff. eresa announced that two new members of Patrick Manor’s care staff are veterans. ey served their country and are now serving Patrick Manor residents. e Chefs were applauded for the delicious food they prepare and serve every day. Rafael took notes of menu requests as well as requests for anksgiving and Christmas dinners. He also reported that he, Ronnie and Angela are working to provide more sugar-free dessert options. Wendy was also applauded for the wonderful activities she leads. e Wednesday night movies are especially popular and this month she will be featuring Christmas themed movies. And as you all know, Wendy is one of Santa’s very special elves assigned to gathering our family’s Christmas wish list. is is your reminder to be sure to give her your wish so that she can let Santa know what to put under our tree for you!
