SewAid and Ryde Rotary provided training for the production of Days for Girls kits in Pursat, Cambodia. Kits were also distributed, and sewing equipment was provided
Turramurra Rotary worked with Wheelchairs for Kids to build wheelchair ramps to allow access to schools, homes, and other buildings for disabled children in Bangladesh

East Gosford Rotary used a District grant to build a shed as stage 1 of a two part project to design and build a community garden in East Gosford for the use of isolated / elderly / disadvantaged residents
Wahroonga Rotary provided equipment and transport for the Basanta Rehabilitation And Vocational Education (BRAVE) Centre for Disabled teenagers in Nepal

North Sydney Rotary used a district grant to support the provision of refurbished computers to a youth club in Dili, Timor Leste. The project included training the young people
Chatswood Rotary used a district grant to reticulate drinking water in Gorkha, Nepal following disruption caused by an earthquake in 2015

Northbridge Rotary used a District Grant to rebuild a classroom heavily damaged during the May 2015 earthquake in Nepal
Erina club provided ultrasound equipment for use by midwives in Timor Leste with the help of a District Grant

Gosford North Rotary used a District Grant to enable Days for Girls Kits to be provided for girls at UmojaOrphanage in Kenya. Training in Menstrual health was also provided
Roseville Chase Rotary, with the help of a District Grant and 10 other clubs in D9685, and council and government assistance, purchased a new delivery van for Meals on Wheels in the northern suburbs

GLOBAL GRANTS 2016-17
Lindfield Rotary used a global grant to support a cleft lip and palate surgery project in Kolkata, India. A team of surgeons carried out surgery and training on this project.
Northbridge Rotary ran a 3km water reticulation system including tanks and pumps to bring drinking water to two schools and a medical clinic in the Letefoho district in Timor Leste
GLOBAL GRANTS 2016-17
Norwest Sunrise Rotary used a global grant to send a Vocational Training team of 4 medicos to Bolivia to improve cardiothoracic surgical proficiency and patient outcomes in public hospitals
Turramurra Rotary used a global grant to increase beds from 11 to 22 in the Bo Children’s Hospital in Sierra Leone. Upgraded laboratory and pharmacy facilities and isolation wards were further improvements included in the project

peacebuilders and community leaders dedicated to preventing and resolving conflicts across the global

ROTARY FOUNDATION GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIPS
Studying at the London School of Economics, and hosted by the Rotary Club of Leytonstone and Woodford, 2017-18 Foundation Global Grant Scholars is Caroline English. Caroline is sponsored by Turramurra Rotary.
Caroline’s Area of Focus is Economic and Community Development. She will be studying for a Master of Public Administration and plans to work in economic development projects in South and South East Asia
ROTARY FOUNDATION GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIPS
2017-18 Global Grant Scholar Marshall Dunn was nominated by the Rotary Club of Mosman. He will study for an MA in Psychology and Education at Columbia University. His host club in New York is the Rotary Club of Wall Street.
Marshall is a teacher, speaker and author and plans working in disadvantaged communities helping them to combat abuse, bullying, domestic violence and suicide.

DISTRICT OBJECTIVES - THE ROTARY FOUNDATION
• Every Club and every Rotarian to support the Foundation – even if the personal contribution is modest.
• Every Rotarian a Centurion• At least one Paul Harris Society member
per club. The objective is to involve ALL Rotarians in Personal giving, and ALL clubs in some activity, including financial support, and grant activity, with the Foundation.
CLUB PRESIDENT’S ROLE - The Rotary Foundation• Vigorously support Foundation activities- grants and giving,
promoting OUR charity and our prime means of doing good in the world
• Appoint a Rotary Foundation Chair in your club• Ensure you have frequent and effective communication with
your Foundation Chair during planning and during the year• Support your Foundation Chair in keeping active in
promoting grant applications, Club giving and personal giving
• Be knowledgeable, and don’t hesitate to seek help from your District Foundation representative.
• Ensure your Foundation Rep has a guest speaker slot early in the year to update members on the Foundation
