I am looking forward to a great 2015 for Oceanside Charter Chapter and all our members and friends! We finished out 2014 in ABWA style. Our November meeting had many great moments. Guest speaker, Belinda Stewart, shared tips and insights from her personal experience with career change and reinvention after the age of 50. Kristen Snyder presented the Making A Difference Award to Catherine Goonen for her enthusiasm and efforts during her first year in ABWA! We had a very special guest, our new District 1 Vice President, Gina Berry and her husband joined us. Gina, in her first official appearance in her new capacity, gave a brief overview of the 65th ABWA National Conference. She also presented the Chapter with our beautiful, new Best Practices Level II award and explained what ABWA Best Practices are and how each level is achieved. In November we announced that our Chapter has funded a $2000.00 scholarship. Applicants must be female students who will be attending an accredited U.S. college; university or community/ vocational school as of August 2015. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens, residents of Brevard County, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Please spread the word to your friends, family and co-workers about this great scholarship opportunity. On December 9 th members and guests enjoyed our Holiday Gala. Members brought gifts for the women of Genesis House and Kristen Snyder, the Administrator at Genesis House, gave a brief overview of the services provided in their three shelters for homeless women and their children. Thank you to all who contributed – the scarves and sweaters are very much appreciated. Sheryl Olguin and her beautiful guitar music provided our entertainment for the evening – thank you Sheryl! Please check out our Face Book page for pictures of both these wonderful meetings. January’s meeting promises to be a good one! Jane Barr, CEO of Kinnexion and certified Energy Leadership Coach, will present Take Control of Yourself!, sharing tips, tools and processes to enhance your ability to connect with clients and collaborators, exceed expectations, gain commitment, and inspire teams to take action! Mark your calendars for our Winter Social on February 24 th – thank you to Rebecca Whiddon and Catherine Goonen for planning and hosting this event at Catherine’s home. Come and bring a friend! Another item for your calendar -this year’s ABWA Eastern Regional Conference will be in Safety Harbor, FL from April 16 th – 18 th . Conferences provide a fast track to knowledge, enthusiasm and involvement – all members are encouraged to attend. If you’d like to know more, please ask! I am looking forward to a great 2015 for
Oceanside Charter Chapter and all our members
and friends!
We finished out 2014 in ABWA style. Our
November meeting had many great moments.
