The people on the first Palm Sunday were anticipatingthe New Age….

Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, "Hosanna! " "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!" "Hosanna in the highest!" (Mar 11:9-10 NIV)



This New Age would involve resurrection… "Lord," Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask." Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again.“ Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." (John 11:21-24)

Jesus is the King who will call the dead to rise for judgment The Father has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out--those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. (John 5:27-29 NIV)
