Hafsún had his headquarters in the city of Bobastro (Ardales), where the rebel built the first Mozarab churches that led to the clash between the kingdoms of Granada and Castile. This military confrontation mobilized more than 10,000 warriors during the 14th and 15th centuries and witnessed the construction of impressive fortresses such as the castles of Teba, Cañete la Real, Peña de Ardales and Turón – all of which count with their own museums.
