§ However, offers do not need to wait for a Major Offer Round date
§ Early offers can only be made to the applicant’s highest eligible preference (i.e. where the applicant meets the entry requirements including a minimum OP/rank)
§ Early offers cannot disadvantage applicants in the Major Offer Round (if you don’t get an early offer, don’t panic – more offers will be made in the Major Offer Round)
§ Current Year 12’s cannot receive a firm offer before their last day of school
§ Current Year 12s may begin to receive offers on their last day of school (18 November 2016)

§ For non-competitive courses with no entry requirements and where supply meets demand (e.g. many TAFE courses), offers will be made as soon as the applicant is ‘ready’
For non-competitive courses where there are entry requirements and the institution believes it can accommodate demand, offers will be made as soon as the applicant is ‘ready’
Competitive courses (where the demand is higher than supply) will continue to have most offers made in the Major Offer Round
OfferProcessesfor2016/17cont.
§ You will be given feedback about whether you have met the entry requirements (prerequisites, etc.) including the minimum OP/rank in the ‘Course Preference’ section of your application
§ For competitive courses, this allows you to replace ‘wasted’ preferences with better choices before theMajor Offer Round
§ The institution of your highest preference will be able to make you an offer to an upgrading/pathways course (that is not listed in your list of preferences)
§ Pathway offers are restricted to courses that are offered through QTAC
Applicants will have a shorter period of time to respond to their offer
Finding out your offerLog in to your application§ QTAC will send an email notification and may send an SMS notification if a mobile
