Culture is the mode of generating meanings and ideas

This ‘mode’ is negotiation over which meanings are valid.

Meanings are governed by power relationship.

Elite culture controls the meanings.

Non-elite views on the life and art are rejected as ‘testless’ or ‘useless’.
