From P&D Staff Reports The Circle C Mobile Home Park’s license renewal will be discussed at tonight’s (Mon- day) meeting of the Yankton City Commission. The park has come under scrutiny over a number of is- sues, including improper plumbing and sanitation con- ditions, improperly built trail- ers, abandoned vehicles and park management. Yankton City Finance Offi- cer Al Viereck said, should the application be denied, he doesn’t anticipate city action would occur until the spring. In other business, the com- mission will also discuss a minor change to an order for a new fire truck, an agreement between the city and the Housing & Redevelopment Commission and the appoint- ment of a parking committee. The commission meets at 7 p.m. tonight at the Technical Education Center, 1200 W. 21st St. Dean Ticknor Dean Ticknor, age 84, of Vermillion, SD, passed away Friday, Janu- ary 9, 2015 at a place near and dear to his heart, his shop. Dean Fredrick Tic- knor was born May 5, 1930, in Burke, South Dakota to Elmer and Tillie Ticknor. Dean graduated from Burke High School in 1949 and mar- ried his high school sweet- heart, Berniece Klein in October 1950. Dean was drafted into the Army in Jan- uary 1952. This was just less than two years after they married and Berniece was expecting their first child in August. Dean and Berniece moved to Vermillion in 1965 and Dean’s first job in Ver- million was working for Royal Ready Mix. A few years later he started his own business, Ticknor Exca- vation.
