September 9 is Rally Day, the official start of the new program year. Sunday School for children and youth will resume, and everyone is invited to a Potluck Breakfastat 9:15 a.m. Dont worry too much about the potluckpart; if you can pick up a breakfast roll or some donut holes, that will be fine! (And I bet youll find something to eat even if you dont.) As our Chrisan Educaon programs resume for children and youth, I would also like to begin again with more regular opportunies for spiritual enrichment for adults. The 3 rd or 4 th Monday or the 3 rd or 4 th Tuesday of the month are generally available for me. For September, I m suggesng a movie night for Mon- day, September 24. I dont look for films that focus on religious themes or hit us over the head with a mes- sage; I look for those that challenge us to learn to see God in the events of everyday life. While this is not a new year, this season always brings fresh starts and new beginnings. May we all recommit to seeking Gods wisdom and following Gods way. Sunday, September 9 — The 16th Sunday after Pentecost The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper Scripture: Proverbs 1:20-33 Psalm 1 Mark 9:33-37 Sermon: Rally Day: Welcoming Wisdom Music: Haviland Choir Liturgist: Barb Marra

Dear Friends, Over the next few weeks, our church calendar will be getting much fuller. September 9 is Rally Day, the official start of the new program year. Sunday School for children and youth will resume, and everyone is invited to a “Potluck Breakfast” at 9:15 a.m. Don’t worry too much about the “potluck” part; if you can pick up a breakfast roll or some donut holes, that will be fine! (And I bet you’ll find something to eat even if you don’t.)

Pres-Bees and LOGOS will be starting on September 23 with an afternoon family picnic at Beaver Creek Presbyterian Church Camp, a camp with a longstanding relationship with both Upper Ohio Valley and Eastminster Presbyteries. (My husband Steve has been serving on the camp board for years.)

As our Christian Education programs resume for children and youth, I would also like to begin again

with more regular opportunities for spiritual enrichment for adults. The 3rd or 4th Monday or the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of the month are generally available for me. For September, I’m suggesting a movie night for Mon-day, September 24. I don’t look for films that focus on religious themes or hit us over the head with a mes-sage; I look for those that challenge us to learn to see God in the events of everyday life.

While this is not a “new year,” this season always brings fresh starts and new beginnings. May we all

recommit to seeking God’s wisdom and following God’s way.

Blessings, Meta
