Use shopping bags made from hemp. The ones atthe supermarket are mostly made from polyester(source is fossil fuel). Cotton uses too much water.

Use a shopping trolley

Use paper bags when buying fruit & veges(most supermarkets provide them for mushrooms)

Avoid pre-packaged fresh food as much as possible

Setup a compost bin and/or worm farm for food scraps. You can do this even in a flat.

Wrap food scraps that cannot be composted innewspaper and place them directly in your bin
