Dear Church Family,

It is a blessing to see how God is moving and working at Crosspointe. I count it an honor and privilege to serve as the pastor of such a Spirit-anointed church. Each week I am amazed at the wonderful things God continues to do. He has been moving in our church in incredible ways and it is certainly remarkable to experience.

We publish this magazine several times a year to keep you informed about what’s going on at Crosspointe and to encourage you to get involved and to be a part of what God is doing. Through these pages you will find important information about upcoming events in the life and ministry of Crosspointe. Don’t miss out on what God is doing. Make it a priority to get involved and experience the blessing of God.

On Sunday, June 28th, we began a new series entitled “Unstoppable: 40 Days of Breakthrough Faith.” More than a sermon series, this is a spiritual journey of prayer that Crosspointe will embark upon collectively. Everyone who can read will receive an Unstoppable devotion book that has been created and designed by our staff specifically for this season of prayer. For forty days we will come together as a church to ask God to give us an unstoppable faith; the faith that will take our lives, our marriages, our families and our church to the next level of spiritual experience. Imagine what God could do in our church if we came together in unity for forty days and begged God to have His way in our lives and in our church. Eternity will only tell the impact that this forty day journey will have in the families of Crosspointe.

There is not another church in the world like Crosspointe. You are indeed a special people and we serve an amazing God. This August marks the second year that I have had the honor of serving as your pastor and I can honestly say that I am more excited about our church than I have ever been. I believe that some of the greatest days in the history of our church will soon take place. I look forward to experiencing those days with all of you as we walk together towards the future God has planned for Crosspointe.

We serve an amazing God!

Jim Perdue, Pastor

What is God’s plan to grow you as a person and a Christ follower? That is a BIG question and beginning this August, we’re going to take a look at three specific areas in your life where God can grow you in ways you could never have imagined.

This three week Blueprint series begins on Sunday, August 16th, and will launch us as a church into a new way of thinking about how we can Connect, Grow, and Serve in His church through our daily lives.

One of the most moving times we experienced as a church last year occurred during the summer; our church-wide movement of prayer entitled, UNITE: 40 Days of Life-Changing Prayer. We saw more decisions, more salvations, and more people join our church during that time than at any other time during 2008. We believe that God chose to blessus during those summer months because as achurch we were unified in prayer and purposefor 40 days.

Once again, this summer we are launching a 40 day movement of prayer entitled, UNSTOPPABLE: 40 Days of Breakthrough Faith. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6, “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.”

What would happen in this amazing body if for 40 days we joined our hearts and prayers and believed God for something big! Not just the normal come-to-church and go home attitude, but believingGod to send an awakening to our church, our families, our community and even our world. Our heartbeat here at Crosspointe is to see the message of Jesus Christ radically change everyone in our sphere of influence. We want God to give us an unstoppable faith.

This summer, we will spend six weeks examining how our faith changes every aspect of our lives. What does God expect of us during these financially difficult times? How can we give in faith knowing that we are commanded to “seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness?” As followers of Christ, how do we handle it when death suddenly strikes closely to our family and friends? How do we continue to walk by faith when we’ve lost our job and there doesn’t seem to be anything on the horizon? These are just a few of many subjects that we desire to examine during our summer study.

During these 40 days, we will provide you and your family with a book specifically designed by our staff for this series. It will follow along with the sermons and Sunday School lessons from each Sunday. These books are designed for everyone who canread to take and use in your personal time withthe Lord. Use them each day personally and eachweek with your family. It doesn’t matter where the summer takes you, make sure that you have your book with you so you can continue to joinwith the entire church body as we pray for very specific things each day. UNSTOPPABLE: 40 Days ofBreakthrough Faith will conclude with a special Celebration Sunday on August 9th. This is one series that you will not want to miss! God is going to do some amazing things at Crosspointe through collective, consistent and unified prayer.

“Breakthrough faith is not belief without

proof, but trust without reservation.”

How did you become involved in ministry here?

I’m the new guy at Crosspointe having been here less than two weeks as of June 10th; however, I previously served as Worship Pastor at Crosspointe for over 13 years from 1990-2003.

As the Worship Pastor what do you want to accomplish in your ministry?

I want to passionately teach the true, biblical picture of what worship is to our congregation. To see the manifest presence of God welcomed into our presence each week. I desire our worship teams to practice the presence of God in their personal lives in preparation to lead corporate worship on Sunday and to pray for a fresh encounter with God each week that will produce transformed lives. That will create a renewed sense of the awesome holiness of God.

What do you enjoy most about serving here at Crosspointe?

People. Ministry is all about people and building God-centered relationships. The people at Crosspointe are the most genuine, caring, friendly, and passionate people for God I’ve ever known. I love their enthusiasm for the things of God and their spirit of expectation to see God move in the hearts and lives of others each week. When you’re able to have some free time, what do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy spending time with my family whether it be a simple night out to dinner, a movie, or a nice vacation away. We also enjoy watching each and every episode of American Idol together with as many friends as possible.

If you could have any other job besides a Worship Pastor what would it be and why?

Cruise ship host. Just think, free food 24 hours a day while helping people do nothing more than have fun every waking moment of the day. Of course, if you come across someone you don’t like, don’t worry because they’re leaving in a week. I love people, so having the opportunity to serve and connect with new individuals on a consistent basis would be awesome. Come to think of it, being the guy that throws rolls at Lambert’s Cafe wouldn’t be a bad gig either!

How can our worship at Crosspointe affect our community? Worship is both inspiring and evangelistic. As our people enter into God’s presence in worship each Sunday, hopefully they will experience an encounter with God that will change their life and inspire them to enter their community sharing God’s love, hope and salvation. Also, as we worship, God reveals Himself to those attending who do not know Him so they might be saved. When Paul and Silas sang in jail, not only did the prison doors swing open but the jailer was saved along with his entire household.

Is there a little known fact about you that most likely nobody knows? I won the Karoake duet singing championship with Jerry McLemore aboard a Royal Carribean cruise ship! What’s your favorite Bible verse? Galations 2:20, it’s all about dying to ourselves so that Hecan live through us daily.
