Abhiram Modak

This is my view of Universe - I view it to be made of Particles only. Instead of a drill down approach in quest of find the smallest particle (Molecules > Atoms > Protons > Quarks >..), I have opted for an approach which starts with the assumption of we know the smallest particles, 'Tard' with real mass and velocities below 'c', (alongwith his cousin iTard, which is with imaginary mass and Tachs / iTachs - the faster than light particles). These are possibly un-observable. They only has mass and it can move in space, all other properties need to be derived (like charge, spin, color and etc). These Tard guy are indestructible, it cannot loose rest-mass, even when part of Photon moving with 'c'.
The other important assumption in my theory is there are no force fields like Electro-magnetic, gravitational, nor Space Time curves are depicted in General Relativity.

I have chosen to describe my thoughts in form of a Poem! Well, it may sound stupid but that is the only way I can express as of now.

Prelude

I keep on asking QuestionsI keep on getting AnswersQuestions effortlessly emergeFrom what I think are Answers

DisclaimerNeither am I a PhysicistNor a MathematicianAn Ordinary student of logicWith lot of imagination Some Concepts may be of relevanceSome purely fun and fictionI am spilling them as I rememberFrom my multi decade self-deliberations

Einstein thought of lightWhile others of speeds lesserI decided to tread the unknownOf Speeds much faster Some Concepts in the quartetsAre powered by my EquationsOthers are in makingIn the realm of imagination

AssumptionsThere is thing called Rest mass I believe in Einstein’s SpecialEnergy Momentum must conserveThose are my Assumptions My faith is in ParticlesReal, Imaginary doesn’t matter‘Fields’ for me don’t existNeither do Space time curvatures This incredible task is enormousTo define everything with ParticlesI have done some workOthers can take this further

Page 6: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

The ObserverOur simple Inertial ObserverActually does complex featsHe remembers and calculatesAnd analyzes mass- energies So let’s arm him withA gadget ‘Energy Meter’In addition to his regular‘Signal Trans – Receiver’ The Energy Meter gadgetWill need another ‘Add on’We will revisit this laterWhen we analyze Tachyons Observers, Dark or WhiteShould observe Energy MassesThey may need to calculateQuantities that evade the gadgets

Page 7: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

The UniverseThe Universe according to meIs divided in four quadrantsTwo represent the WhiteTwo are Dark Matter

To me White is Total RealAnd Dark is ImaginaryThis may not match at allWith definitions contemporary The Dark is not that darkAs we would conclude laterThe White and Dark MattersDo affect each other

Page 8: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

The UniverseOn the boundaries of the quadrantsLie light and Light-like particlesWhite, Mixed or DarkIt all depends on neighbor Q4 is the darkestBut is also the nearestParallel Universe may existIn our very own closet On Q1/Q3 horizonMixed light may be thereDarks honor ConservationSo Flipping may happen there

Page 9: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

The UniverseFlipping will create for RealsA need for accelerationReverse is true for DarksThose undergo deceleration To flip you through to Q2You will need a ‘Photon Thunder’To bring you back to Q1You will need a reverse Thunder

A Tardyon trapped in TachyonA Tachyon trapped in TardyonThis strange unificationGives birth to a serene Photon

The UniverseYou could travel the UniverseAt speeds unimaginableThe devil is in the TechnologyBut Theory too is not simple If ever we have to leaveOur Planet for our survivalWe must know to useThe illusive ‘Photon Thunder’

TachyonsDark mass and Speeds FTLThe Energy of Tachyon is RealIt may have mass lump sumOr possibly a stream of tiny particles Acceleration of a TardyonWithout an impact visibleCan be due to TachyonsIn form of tiny particles

The Rest Energy may seemVariant for a momentBut over an intervalWill be invariant all the same

TachyonsAbsorption or Emission of Tachyon? It all depends on ObserverNow here we should introduceThe ‘Add on’ to Energy Meter

Energy Deficit or ExcessThe ‘Add on’ should maintain the ledgerThe Tachyons always arriveBefore their own tracers Imbalance would vanishOn arrival of the TracersThe imbalance occurs becauseThe Light is our Tracer

The Poem of UniversePart II – ‘Particles – Seen, Unseen’

Page 17: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

17

Particles – Seen, UnseenThe particles in the discussionsCan’t combine or disintegrateWould always remain particlesE & mc2 is equivalence at best With no gravity or chargeMy Particles are elasticMass is all they possessThey are really very basic Tardyon and Tachyons I talkAre these utopian ParticlesConventional talk is about speedI chose to extend it further

Page 18: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

18

Particles – Seen, Unseen‘Tards’ and ‘Tachs’- let’s call themShorter names of the Original famesThey possess mass and move in spaceEverything else is to be derived on this base

So Particles in Part oneAre also these basic onesWith this is in your mindYou may re-read Part one

Tards as we knowLie only in the Q1But Q4 may bring outSurprises more than one

Page 19: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

19

Particles – Seen, UnseenSo let us brood on Quadrant FourA World nearby but still unknownParticles here have imaginary massesBut travel in real time and occupy real spaces

So let us call the particle as ‘iTard’Cousin/ Competitor of our Q1 ‘ Tard’The competition is for occupying spaceLeading to a fight leaving unexpected trace

Are my particles ‘Gods’?As of now don’t think soMy Particles are stubbornWhile the Gods come and go

Page 20: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

20

CollisionsiTard and Tard would collide in spaceAnd behave as if of the same raceConservation would be put to testTachs will come to balance the mess We would also need a Tach cousinIt would need to chip in for ConservationWith Energy imaginary and Mass real‘iTach’ in Q3 would be that cousin The Tard will record accelerationOr Will remains still on iTards’ insistence (If punched equally in opposite directions),We will say it is one of four forces of nature

Page 21: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

21

CollisionsMy Particle concept and their interactionsNeeds to subsume multiple thingsCharge, Spin, Quark, Strings..Else my ideas would be worth nothing The biggest challenge would be to explain photonTard and Tach in a royal snake danceThat’s the key to understanding the Universe In Part I, this concept I did briefly touched upon So let us start with a model very simpleWhich can finally explain a real life particleHere I introduce the concept of ‘Sys’A system of my particles

Page 22: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

22

CollisionsA simple ‘Sys’ is a collectionOf iTards and TardsWhile Tachs and it’s cousinsWould appear if asked

A Complex Sys would haveSpeed, response of it’s ownA Topic I will deferTill my model is fully blown

Particles would be lostParticles would be gainedHead count of the SysWould more or less be the same

TachsTachs have the worst life spanFor some they die before they are bornThe only way to enhance their lifeIs to tangle a Tard and form a Photon?

Can Tachs be on their own?And leave their Tard’s comfort zoneWill they affect Tards on the way? Will Conservation maintain it’s sway?

TachsLet’s return to ConservationAnd think upon Tach Emission and AbsorptionOn the right is what is mentioned briefly in Part IPrevious two slides detail all the Options

Absorption or Emission? What should one say?Observers can think in either wayLet us think of about quantities in questionAnd restrict our thinking to the logical Option

Page 29: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

29

Tachs-ve Energy to me has no Physical significance-ve Momentum has only mathematical relevanceLet’s debar –ve Energy from our thoughtsAnd select an Option that will satisfy the plot

The slide next is the preferred OptionPositive Tach Energy is everybody’s convictionMomentum remains as Mathematical convenienceAs usual there is agreement on Conservation

Page 30: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

30

Page 31: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

31

TachsLet’s put two Tards in actionAnd use Tach as Energy exchange mechanismThe Observers agree on Tards’ motionBasic nature of Universe seems Repulsion

Observers disagree about emission/ absorptionIt is ok and we shouldn’t terribly botherIt all happens before there’s anything observedThe crux is Tach is the Energy Carrier

Argument with respect to Observers 1and 4.Similar argument can be made for otherObservers. There will be disagreementOn which Tard emitted and absorbed Tach. The end result is still the same

The Poem of Universe

Part IV – Special Relativity (SR) Revisited

33

It would be beneficial to read earlier parts of this poem to understand better

Page 34: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Special Relativity Revisited

SR assumes a simple spaceIt is not so is my humble guessThe space is not curved like GRIt could may well be inclined in SR

The thought comes from a simple paradoxA thought experiment that brought up this thoughtAn experiment which should have answer so simpleOr that is what I initially thought

Page 35: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Imagine a meteorite and a Space ship guy at relative restAnd a guy outside in the space moving away at some paceThe ship fires a laser, towards the meteoriteThe inside guy says it blew the meteorite

“It moved, laser missed the meteorite”The outside Guy sees an intact meteoriteBoth Guys believe in constant speed of lightSR didn’t imagine basic event as a subject for fight

Special Relativity Revisited

Page 36: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

That disagreement puts everything for a tossThe world as we know would fall apartConservation laws won’t hold any goodBut the other choice is also not very good

Other choice is to allow light velocity to varyEntire experimental community would instantly disagreeSo there is a need to modify the SRBut at the same time believe in SR

Special Relativity Revisited

Page 37: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

GR chose to curve the spaceWould the SR incline the space? The outside Guy would see the light path inclinedAll particles (and light) will follow some incline

Light would travel at least inclinationAll known particles would deviate even furtherTachs would incline lesser than the lightSpace, it seems is hardly ever upright

Special Relativity Revisited

Page 38: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Space inclination is needed for SRTrain Experiment assumes this at heartIt is important to mention the inclinationElse we are stuck with the paradox

The constancy of light speed is not by chanceIt need not be an assumption we uncomfortably get alongIt is a simply hidden in the composition of photonThe tard-tach pair reveals it in the royal snake dance

Special Relativity Revisited

Page 39: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Minkowski Spacetime will not be as we knewAs earlier, it will not have a single view‘A’ will draw the world line of lightThat will not be the same as what ‘B’ drew

We will discard the inclination some time laterAs particles would explain all that really mattersMy Inclination is as absurd as Space time bendBut I feel the SR for now needs this slight amend

The Poem of Universe

Part V – Time

Page 42: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Time

Clock consumes energy and moves the handsWe refill Energy so the cycle moves onWe plot external events against position of the handAnd lo! We have ‘Time’ at our Command

Time is a function of Energy and PositionPosition is ok but for Energy we look for an optionEnergy itself has denominator of TimeMass and Position should cleanly define Time

Page 43: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Time

Time is an indirect counterOf number of time Energy novatesInertial Observer measuresThe energy his clock dissipates In reality it is fair to concludeWhen Observer moves in TimeThe Particle he (in thought*) observesMay not move in Time

* Observes in thought, without sending a light signal

Page 44: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Time

If the Particle in questionIs to also move in timeIt should change its energyOr it stands still in time

Page 45: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Time - Sys

Now we know flaw in concept of TimeWe are measuring Time with TimeEnergy has a denominator of TimeHow can we measure Time with a relative of Time?

So we find answer on level of our elementary SysLoss/gain of Tards would change energy of SysThis Loss/Gain is fundamental to concept of TimeElse we are in catch 22 all the time

E=Kg m2/sec

Page 46: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Time - Sys

Two Tards are the minimum To even think of TimeA single Tard exists in Space without TimeTime related to Tards’ count can be a new paradigm?

The concept considerably simplifies TimeYou don’t need fancy theories to travel in TimeOn a simplistic level to reach a particular TimeDesired Tard count with relative positions will take you to that time

Page 47: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Time - Sys

One Tard is indistinguishable from otherAll of them are copies of each otherVelocities can differentiate to certain extentBut basically they are really all the very same

No more need to bother with clocksObserver’s memory is all I askRemember Tards’ count with relative positionsIs our Observer’s only Time related Task

Page 48: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Time - Sys

Past, Present, Future - terms are meaninglessTards count and positions is all that needs respectConventional Time assumes Energy at heartTime is not a fundamental quantity as we thought

But I choose Not to give up on Time as we knowThought it hinders in my ‘Grand Particle Show’It’s a roadblock to describe the Tach’s actionsI will find a way to deal with those blows

The Poem of UniversePart VI – Motion

Page 51: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Motion

A real life particles is actually a Sys

Observable density of Tards is required in this Sys

Sys occupies defined quantum in Space

A Tard leaves Sys and sets motion in Space

Sys has good amount of Tards

Also Tach, iTachs and of course iTards

The boundary defines the limit of this Sys

Observable Particle will be built from such Sys

Page 52: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Motion

Space as we know is filled with nothing

My hunch it is filled with Tards & their cousins

Also are present Tachs and their cousins

Energy disturbance moves through Tard-Tach chain-links

Tard is too small to be observed

Tach cannot be directly observed

Energy change moves through Tach-Tard knots

Idea of Ether is not as absurd as we thought

Page 53: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Motion

The distribution of Tards and the cousins

Decides the speed of ripple transmission

Speed of Light is peculiar case

Faster, Slower are also prevalent in space

If Tards and iTards are alternately placed

Tard collides with iTard and looses it’s pace

Tach is summoned to conserve the mess

Tach pushes the next Tard and dies in grace

Page 54: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Motion

The next Tard collides with next iTard

A new Tach is born while this Tard retards

The chain can go on forever in space

High Tard density in the way can break the pace

If Tard-iTard density happens to be such

Tach and Tard travel times are ‘x’ times as much

Where x is Tard velocity upon c

Then Energy change moves at velocity c

Page 55: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Motion

If the Tard – iTard spacing is to differ

A motion faster or slower than c can occur

Slower will be similar to real life particle in motion

Faster will relate to Force fields instigating particle motion

We do observe all of above in the nature

We fancy speed of light more than its stature

Light and faster are different in a sense

The guy who starts doesn’t travel to the end

Page 56: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Motion

c is obviously the speed of light

We modelled chain-links to take that flight

The chain-link has one important advantage

The rest mass doesn’t have to die in flight

The ‘c’ chain-link mechanism is important to space

The Tard which begins never travels to the end

The chain-links are based on identical Tards-iTards

This is the Photon Thunder I referred in an earlier part

Page 57: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Motion

Tards and iTards can be thought as Point Particles

Though in theory the will have real dimensions

Vacuum is filled with these utopians

They are fundamental to mass, Energy transmissions

Page 58: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated

Sys Motion

A real life Particle is actually a Sys

Observable density of Tards is required for this Sys

The Sys occupies defined continuum of Space

Sys Acceleration is redefining the continuum of Space

Acceleration causes interesting things to happen

Accelerating edge is busy with Tard-iTard acquisitions

While the trailing edge sees Particle reductions

Uniform motion has no such complications

Page 59: The Poem of Universe - Consolidated
