WE CAN SEE PLANTS IN DIFFERENT PLACES.

There are plantsin the country.

There are plants in some parks in many cities.

CHARACTERISTICS

Plants make their own food from the nutrients they get from the air, water,

soil and sunlight.

CHARACTERISTICS

Plants are multicellularorganisms.

Plants cannot move around.

Plants have three parts:Plants have roots, stems and leaves.

Their roots hold them in the ground and give them water and mineral salts.

Their stems give them shape

and their leaves make their food.

Plants are classified into two groups:Plants with flowers and plants without flowers.

Trees are very large. They have woody stems called trunks. These trunks have branches.

Trees grow slowly and live many years.

Shrubs are minimum-sized.They have woody stems butthey do not have trunksbecause they are softer andthinner. Their branches comefrom the ground. Some grow very quickly and othersgrow slowly.
