THE Pioneer of Raja Ampat Celebrating 20+ years operating in paradise
Raja Ampat, is a remote archipelago lying off the North-eastern coast of West Papua (formerly known as Irian Jaya). This is Indonesia’s most Easterly province, occupying the Western part of the huge island of Papua New Guinea.
In Bahasa Indonesia (the language of Indonesia) Raja Ampat means “The 4 Kings”, the 4 major Islands: Misool, Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo. These Islands and 1,500 other Islets, are all formed from limestone capped with an abundance of green vegetation. Much of it jungle forests.
Exotic & NATuRAl, much of this fascinating and vast province is still unexplored.
The steep-sided walls of the rocks around the islands are shaped by wind and water. No two islands or islets are alike, above or below water.
Soft, vanilla-coloured, sandy bays are ideal for relaxing and exploring between dives.
Underwater one finds beautiful and amazing aquatic life, in varieties and in abundance unlike anywhere else in the World.
A tropical dive resort, completely in touch with Nature. The traditional Papuan water bungalows are very comfortable with the relaxing sounds of the lapping sea and tropical birdsong.
Designed to blend in with the surroundings, each eco-friendly cottage is built to a traditional design with natural local materials and by local craftsmen.
The Indonesian inspired food is delicious and healthy, enjoyed in a spacious, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. © Frits Meyst
