TThis Week’s Mass Intentions
Sacrament of Baptism Baptisms of infants are celebrated every Saturday at 12 noon in MPH and every Sunday at 1:00 PM in our Church. First time parents are asked to participate in our Baptism Preparation Program. Please call the Rectory (631-665-4911) to make any necessary arrangements for Baptism. Sacramental Preparation for Children All children in grades 1 through 8 ought to be enrolled in either our Religious Education Program or St. Patrick School. This will insure that they receive religious instruction and receive the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation at the proper time. Parents are asked to contact either the Religious Education Office at 631-665-4911 ext 138 or St. Patrick School at 631-665-0569 to enroll their child in the appropriate grade level program. Adult Confirmation St. Patrick Parish offers a basic preparation program for adult Catholics who have yet to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please contact the Rectory to inquire about details. RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults A process for adults seeking Baptism and/or those who have not received Communion and Confirmation or non-Catholics wishing to become a member of the Catholic Church. Those interested should call the Rectory Office. Sacrament of Reconciliation Confessions are heard every Saturday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM and every Wednesday at 11:30AM in the Church. Individual confessions may also be heard at anytime by making arrangements with a priest Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick Catholics who are seriously ill, advanced in age, or going in for surgery are all eligible to receive this sacrament. Anointing of the Sick is celebrated following the 8:00 AM Mass every Sunday in the Church. It can also be celebrated at other times by making an appointment with a priest. Please call the Rectory to arrange for a priest to visit any homebound or hospitalized parishioner who may be in need of the Sacrament. Sacrament of Marriage
"Jesus said to His disciples, '"Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female' ? For this reason a man shall leave his
father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined
together, no human being must separate." (Mt.19:5) St. Patrick Parish welcomes all Catholics who would like to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage in our beautiful church. Because preparation for these celebrations can be involved (Pre-Cana, wedding rehearsals, etc.), we ask that engaged couples begin their arrangements at least 6 months in advance of their wedding date. Interested couples are asked to call the Rectory in order to make an appointment with parish clergy. Kindly refrain from booking your reception until you have begun your arrangements with the Church. Sacrament of Holy Orders The Holy Order of Deacon Mature Catholic men who are eligible to serve as deacons and feel an attraction to this vocation of service for the Church are asked to speak with any member of parish clergy to find out more details. The Diocesan Office of Deacons (www.drvc.org) offers many materials and programs to help a man answer this call. The Holy Order of Priest Catholic men who are eligible to serve Holy Mother Church as a priest, who are not married and who feel an attraction to a life of service at the altar and in the confessional are asked to contact one of the parish clergy to find out more. The Diocesan Vocations Office (www.drvc.org) offers many materials and programs to help a man answer this call. The Holy Order of Bishop At every Mass in the Eucharistic Prayer we pray for our Holy Father, Pope Francis and our Diocesan Bishop, John Barres. Please keep our bishops in your prayers.

Dear parishioners, Happy Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ – Corpus Christi! Last week, your parish clergy and staff took part in a training session on all the ways that the Catholic Media Platform FORMED can be used to teach and inspire the faith. One of the many many video series that can be found there is a new presentation called Presence : the Mystery of the Eucharist - a beautiful documentary on the Mass and Eucharistic theology. I suggest that you take some time out this Corpus Christi and view it. ALL Saint Patrick parishioners who use a computer or smartphone ought to take advantage of our parish’s subscription and register on FORMED free of any charge to you – instructions on how to do so can be found in this bulletin. A feature on FORMED that will be very helpful is a section called “Community” where we can curate our own parish recommendations from their huge inventory of books, audios, and videos. In addition we can store there any of our own original creations – such as the “15 Minute Faith” talks we made for our Religious Education Programs that highlight a lot of the art and settings of Saint Patrick’s. One clip you will particularly enjoy is a short made by our second graders on “Adoration.” Each week of Second Grade, as they prepared for First Holy Communion, I had been working on the Mass with them. But now that they have received, I thought perhaps it would possible to explore the idea of devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. As you will see, the children took to it with sweetness and adorable faith! Do yourself a favor and start exploring FORMED – I guarantee that you will be glad you did! At your service and His,

What is it that is so special about the Eucharist? Although the Eucharist appears to
be simple bread and wine, it is actually the “source and summit” of the Christian life. Presence: The Mystery of the Eucharist explores the truth and beauty of Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist, from its origins in Sacred Scripture, to its profound role in the life of the Church and her members. It is the crescendo of the entire story of salvation.

Food Pantry/Soup Kitchen News The volunteers of our Parish Soup Kitchen and Outreach office would like to extend our sincerest thanks to you all for all the support you provide us daily. Through your support, we are able to help so many people struggling in our community. This past month alone, we were able to help over 1,700 individuals (from children to seniors) between our Soup Kitchen and Outreach office! Our numbers continue to increase as some individuals have been moving into our area recently, which means a higher demand of need in our Soup Kitchen and Pantry. Below is a list of the items we are in need of, but as always, we will take any and all food donations (Reminder: check expiration dates prior to donating!)
The following items are needed this week in our food pantry:
Beets (canned or jar) Peanut Butter and Jelly
Mayonnaise and ketchup Paper Products (toilet paper, paper towels and
napkins) Tuna Fish Feminine Products
We are also in need of plastic bags for our food pantry. If you still periodically purchase your bags at the stores, please consider donating some of those bags to our Outreach. Bags are always in demand for our pantry as that is how we get food items to our clients daily.
Thank you so much in advance. As always, we could always use Grocery/Store Gift Cards (Aldi, Shoprite, Stop and Shop, Target, etc). Target and Shoprite gift cards are not only used to help families for food, but it also is used by our clients to pay for their medications in the Pharmaceutical Department. As a reminder---PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY ITEMS UNATTENDED ON CHURCH GROUNDS OR IN FRONT OF THE BETHANY HOUSE AS IT CAN LEAD TO THE ITEMS BEING ‘LITTERED AROUND’ OUR BEAUTIFUL CHURCH GROUNDS.
Thank you so much for your cooperation! Thank you for all your constant support of this ministry! It is because of you that we are able to provide these services and this help to those in need within our parish community. – Kerri

Reflection ~ “Blessed are they who have not seen and have
believed,” Jesus says in today’s Gospel. For those who
have not seen to believe, however, we must be good
stewards of our faith, living it joyfully and sharing it
generously.
Living Stewardship ~
We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish
who put our faith into action - especially through the
spiritual and corporal works of mercy - even when they
may not “see” the fruits of their service, relying on God’s
grace to do the rest!

Beyond the Classroom…
Third Grade Field Trip The third grade class completed an animal
project which included researching their animal using ipads and designing a brochure in
computer class. They were thrilled to see their animal up close when the class visited the
Bronx Zoo last week!
First Grade Field Trip The first grade class recently took a trip to the Bay Shore-Brightwaters Library. They toured the different areas of the children’s section, sang songs and listened to some funny stories. This trip introduced the students to their local library just in time to think about summer reading!

This past week we celebrated memorial day, which is a special time in our country to remember and reflect upon the
sacrifices that so many men and women have made to protect and serve our country. The weekend was indeed filled with parades, barbecues, and families getting together. More importantly however, there were events within the parish, where the community took time to pay our respects to those who have passed on and served. The 7th and 8th grade students of St. Patrick school put together a wonderful event where they proudly displayed dozens of large American flags on the front lawn of the school. There was a dedication ceremony, which gave those who attended the opportunity to remember loved ones that have valiantly served our country. Each flag was sponsored by members in the parish in memoriam of someone close to them who served. The flags are still prominently displayed and we thank those young people of St. Pats for putting together such a powerful and beautiful event. As Catholics we believe that our life does not end when we die, rather our souls will hopefully reunite with God the Father in heaven following our death. To all the men and women who are currently serving and who have served our country, may God bless you. For those who are no longer with us, we pray that their souls are rejoicing in unity with God in heaven. Their legacy of selflessness, discipline, and righteousness inspire us each day. As a Parish we are proud of the large presence of parishioners that have served and are forever grateful for their service!

Are you thinking of joining a ministry? Christ Renews His Parish
is looking to form a connuaon commiee.
Christ Renews His Parish began in 1969 in Ohio and has since impacted over 1,400 parishes in the USA.
CRHP is recommended by the Naonal Conference of Catholic Bishops
Christ Renews His Parish is a personal and parish spiritual renewal process. It provides parishioners
an opportunity to have deeper connectedness within the parish family while serving God.
This is a parish-based formaon and retreat process.
The retreat weekend will follow formaon here at St. Patrick's Parish.
Those called to form a connuaon commiee should have the desire to connue their spiritual
life in Christ through prayer, music, witnessing, and fellowship.
We come together in Mass, Reconciliaon, adoraon and group scripture reflecon.
The commitment is 26 weeks where individuals come
and meet forming a team of adults that through prayer and working together will culminate in a
renewal weekend for parishioners in September. This experience is an opportunity to step away from day
to day acvies and provides an upper room experience within the parish community
for the parish it serves. The program provides weekly assigned scripture study
and faith sharing experiences.
If you are interested in coming to the meengs or learning more about

firstFruits is a convenient way for parishioners of St. Patrick’s Church to support our parish.
By signing up for automatic giving from either a bank account or a credit card, parishioners who enroll in firstFruits are saying that their faith is a priority for them. Catholics who are enrolled in firstFruits understand that the good works performed by St. Patrick Parish in their name are too important to rely on irregular or unpredictable means of financial support.
