The original Caprock & Calhoun Cale Company shoong stage was constructed by Bill Stout (alias Will Penny), Ralph Daniel (Caprock Kid) and George Calhoun (Circuit Judge). These three early members of the Tejas Caballeros Cowboy Shoong Club, designed the stage as a 16 foot by 8 foot plaorm with a n roof and 5/4" decking for the floor. The back of the stage (the firing line) was a wall with a center doorway and windows leſt and right of the doorway. This was a me in the sport when long guns were staged vercally, so there were no shelves to stage your guns. The ends and front of the stage was rail. You entered the stage from the front and exited out the right end of the stage. The three donated all materials and provided the labor to build the stage. The original sign, which now graces the front of the new Determinaon reiteraon of the Caprock & Calhoun Cale Company , was designed and produced by hand by Circuit Judge. The stage was originally constructed at the Cab's second shoong range on FM 967 east of Driſtwood. The club had moved from its original shoong locaon that was across from the Salt Lick to the locaon east of Driſtwood. As the club founder Paul Sherrill (El Malo) and his brother had purchased the land on which the second range was constructed the members thought the land would be the forever home for the Cab's. Alas, the ever encroaching movement of people into the rural country side and the subdivision of adjacent ranches into housing developments eventually required that the Cabs make its second move to the clubs third range on Flat Creek Ranch northwest of Dripping Springs. The Caprock & Calhoun Cale Company sign was saved along with a piece of Cab history. Fortunately, this me around and now at its fourth shoong range, the Cabs indeed have a forever home guaranteed with a 99 year lease and a ranch deed restricted against future subdivision. The Caprock & Calhoun Cale Company #3 is home at last in Determinaon, Texas. Will Penny being med by Circuit Judge Caprock Kid shoong his Dragoon The original Caprock & Calhoun Cale Co.

The original Caprock & Calhoun Cattle Company shooting stage was constructed by Bill Stout (alias Will Penny), Ralph Daniel (Caprock Kid) and

George Calhoun (Circuit Judge). These three early members of the Tejas Caballeros Cowboy

Shooting Club, designed the stage as a 16 foot

by 8 foot platform with a tin roof and 5/4"

decking for the floor. The back of the stage (the

firing line) was a wall with a center doorway

and windows left and right of the doorway. This

was a time in the sport when long guns were

staged vertically, so there were no shelves to

stage your guns. The ends and front of the

stage was rail. You entered the stage from the

front and exited out the right end of the stage.

The three donated all materials and provided the labor to build the stage. The original sign,

which now graces the front of the new

Determination reiteration of the Caprock

& Calhoun Cattle Company, was designed

and produced by hand by Circuit Judge.

The stage was originally constructed

at the Cab's second shooting range on FM

967 east of Driftwood. The club had

moved from its original shooting location

that was across from the Salt Lick to the

location east of Driftwood. As the club

founder Paul Sherrill (El Malo) and his

brother had purchased the land on which

the second range was constructed the

members thought the land would be the forever home for the Cab's.

Alas, the ever encroaching movement of people into the rural country side and the

subdivision of adjacent ranches into housing developments eventually required that the Cabs

make its second move to the club’s third range on Flat Creek Ranch northwest of Dripping Springs.

The Caprock & Calhoun Cattle Company sign

was saved along with a piece of Cab history.

Fortunately, this time around and now at its

fourth shooting range, the Cabs indeed have a

forever home guaranteed with a 99 year lease and

a ranch deed restricted against future subdivision.

The Caprock & Calhoun Cattle Company #3 is

home at last in Determination, Texas.
