The CONNECTION Happy March! This month, I would like to spotlight one of my favorite missions and ministries of the United Methodist Church: UMCOR. UMCOR stands for United Methodist Committee on Relief and will be the focal point of our March mission as we 1) assemble much-needed health kits and 2) collect a special offering on UMCOR Sunday, March 31 st . For over 75 years, UMCOR has helped people in crisis all over the world. This month and especially on UMCOR Sunday, we will celebrate this tremendous ministry and the many lives generously affected through the love in action and compassion of UMCOR. Through a special love offering, we hope to continue supporting the many lives changed through the work of UMCOR. When watching disasters unfold locally and around the globe, many of us feel the call to help but are at a loss as to what we can actually do to help. UMCOR Sunday is the day for congregations around the globe to help. And as our area from here and south of us continues to rebuild from Hurricane Michael, we know first-hand how important it is to pull together and help those affected by disaster. UMCOR offers aid in Jesus’ name to those who suffer: When tornadoes ripped through Oklahoma, UMCOR responded. When children in Zimbabwe lost parents to AIDS, UMCOR responded. When a massive tsunami devastated lives in Japan, UMCOR responded. When Hurricane Michael made landfall, UMCOR responded. And when the next crisis occurs, UMCOR will be prepared to respond. The CONNECTION
Happy March! This month, I would like to spotlight one of my favorite missions and ministries of the United Methodist Church: UMCOR.
UMCOR stands for United Methodist Committee on Relief and will be the focal point of our March mission as we 1) assemble much-needed health kits and 2) collect a special offering on UMCOR Sunday, March 31st.
And as our area from
here and south of us continues to rebuild from Hurricane Michael, we know first-hand how important it is to pull together and help those affected by disaster.
UMCOR offers aid in Jesus’ name to those who suffer:
When tornadoes ripped through Oklahoma, UMCOR responded.
UMCOR is our church-wide
March Mission. Detailed
instructions for the Health Kits
can be found in this newslet-
ter. Every single kit represents
one person’s life who is
changed because of you. Thank
you. Also, please consider
making a special donation to
this fabulous ministry on or
before UMCOR Sunday, March
31st, as we thank God for the
opportunity to help UMCOR
respond to the glory of God.
Blessings, Teresa

FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY Strong Community Life Matters to God
March Mission: UMCOR Health Kits
At the Alabama/West Florida United Methodist Annual Conference this year, UMCOR relief
kits will again be collected. Relief Supply kits help provide care for the most vulnerable people
during times of crisis. UMCOR kits are distributed globally, and help sustain everyday life for
people who lack ready access to essential supplies.
Below are the needed items for each Health Kit:
1 hand towel (15”x25” to 17”x27”) (kitchen, cleaning, and microfiber towels are not
acceptable)
1 washcloth
1 comb (at least 6” and sturdy; no pocket combs or picks)
1 metal nail file or nail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers)
1 bath-size soap (3 oz. and larger; no Ivory or Jergens soap due to moisture content; do not
remove from original packaging)
1 toothbrush (adult-size only; do not remove from packaging; no multi-packs)
NO TOOTHPASTE
10 adhesive bandages (3/4” to 1” size) (common household bandages)
1 plastic bag (1 gallon-size sealable bag)
$1 to purchase toothpaste; $1 for shipping.
Lay out the hand towel flat on a table. Lay the washcloth flat in the center of the hand towel.
Place all remaining items on top of the washcloth. Fold over the sides of the hand towel to
cover all of the items. Fold over one end of the hand towel so that it covers all of the items.
Grasp the bundle of items tightly and roll over the remainder of the hand towel tightly. Place
the tightly rolled bundle in the plastic bag. Remove as much air as possible and seal the bag.
We are collecting these Health Kits the entire month. Thank you for sharing the love of God to
those in great need. God bless you!

Monday Morning Bible Study
Robyn Robbins is leading “Jonah” Women’s Bible Study on Monday’s at 9 a.m. Interruptions. “They're aggravat-ing. Sometimes infuriating. But how we handle interrup-tions actually tell us more about ourselves. What do we do when God interrupts our lives? Many times, like Jonah, we run! Priscilla redefines interruption and shows that interruption is actually God's invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was revival in an entire city.” (Lifeway.com)
Young Adult Sunday School at Greystone Join us on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. for the Young Adult Sunday School Class! Mike Johnson is teaching “God of Armor” by Priscilla Shirer. If you are a Young Adult, consider this great Sunday School Class!
We have 3 adult Sunday Schools, a young adult Sunday School, Youth Sunday School, Children’s Sunday School, and Pre-K Sunday School! Our nursery is also available for your little one’s. See you Sunday at Greystone!
Wednesday Night Bible Study
Kids and youth will be exploring “The Quest for Kids” by Beth Moore. This is a 6-week Bible Study on Wednesday evenings at 6pm. This Bible Study is an Expedition Toward a Deeper Relationship with God.

Join us the First Thursday of every month. We share food donated by Greystone members. And share the Love of Christ with them through Prayer. . March 7th, 5:15-7:15pm 276 W. Main St., Dothan
Love In Action International Ministries spreads the
Gospel of Jesus Christ through acts of compassion in
our hometown of Dothan, Ala., inner cities
throughout the US, and other parts of the world.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:35-40 that we are to take
care of the neediest among us. In verse 40 He says, "I
assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of
these brothers of Mine, you did for Me."
They also believe in carrying out the Great
Commission Jesus gives all of His followers in
Matthew 28:19-20. “Therefore, we go to the nations
reaching the lost and unreached people with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, and make disciples.”
Items for Dothan Animal Shelter will be collected the 1st Sunday of each month.
