• Each Olympics is held in a different country

• The first Olympics took place in 776 B.C.

• The ancient Olympics were held mainly as a religious festival for the God, Zeus

• Some human rights activists are planning on protesting the games because of

China’s involvement in Darfur• It is also being predicted that terrorists are

a real threat for the 2008 Beijing Olympics• There are also concerns about the pollution, but officials hope to have this

problem solved before the Olympics
