THE NUMBERS

A number is  a mathematical    object  used to count, label, and measure. In mathematics, the definition of number has been extended over the years  to  include  such  numbers  as 0,  numbers, and complex numbers.

 Natural numbers.

The most familiar numbers are the natural numbers or counting numbers: 1, 2, 3, and so on.

A rational number is a number that can be expressed as a fraction with an integer numerator and a non-zero integer denominator. Fractions are written as two numbers, the numerator and the denominator, with a dividing bar between them. 

The real numbers include all of the measuring numbers. Real numbers are usually written using decimal numerals.
