What Is The NHS?

• The NHS is the largest organisation in Europe.

• One of the best health services in the world but there is need for improvements to cope with the 21st century.

How Is The NHS Organised?

• It is funded by the tax-payer and costs lots and lots of money a year.

• The resources are not unlimited, the funds have to be allocated.

• Priorities for the health care have to be set.

• This is the job of the health service managers.

What Are The Main Services?

• The main services of the NHS are: Primary Health Care which is classed as paramedics and G.P’s.

• Two other services they provide are: providing blood and protecting public health.

People In The NHS!

• The people that are involved in this service are: doctors, dentists, paramedics, midwives, nurses, opticians, pharmacies.

• To become one of these you need 4 or more GCSE’s, also you need to be physically fit and highly skilled. You have to be able to make decisions quickly, use a variety of equipment and be able to calm and reassure your patients.

• They help the others by providing them with lots of different services that will benefit the public!

How To Become A Paramedic!

• To become a paramedic you need all of the skills that are needed.

• 4 or more GCSE’s.• You have to be able

to allow the patients to rely on you and let them be able to trust you.

How To Become A Midwife!

• A midwife is a specialist who is qualified to give total care to a woman and her baby during pregnancy, labour and after the baby is born. The midwife does not have to call in a doctor unless there is a potential or actual problem which requires medical assistance.

How To Become A Nurse!• Nurses focus on the needs

of the individual, rather than specific illnesses or conditions.

• It is possible to take either a diploma or degree course to qualify as a nurse.

• The first year will introduce you to the basic principles of nursing.

• Full time diploma courses last three years. Degree courses last three or four years.

• The course is 50% theory and 50% practical.

How To Become An Optician!

• An optician's duties include fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, writing work orders for lab technicians and performing administrative work.

• You need 4GCSE’s a degree and maybe an A level to become an optician!

Summary!

• I have explained all about the NHS, I have found out the company is a large organisation with lots of different services. I have found out lots of information on the different services and how to become apart of the NHS team. Finally I have found out how the organisation was funded and what they had to do to get this funding money.
