HAPPY NEW YEAR! The Gold Coast Treasure Club thanks the followingsupporters for making our December Holiday Party a huge success!
DUBIOUS AWARDS Winners of these awards were nominated by fellow
members for their “dubious” actions during club events.
Jack Saint received waterproof Band-Aids to prevent bothersome nipple irritation after wearing a wet suit while metal detecting in the water.
Irving Smith was recognized for the clues he
provided to locate the buried coin cache. Irving received a red sprinkler head to remind him that
this coin cache represents the longest running and
most frustrating set of clues in the history of the
Gold Coast Treasure Club!

WINNER OF THE BROKEN SCOOP AWARD By popular vote, Jack Saint received the honor of
winning the third Annual Broken Scoop Award for his
dubious, but great tip for all water hunters who wear wet suits: use Band-Aids to prevent that pesky problem with
nipple irritation.
Jack will have to display this award in a prominent place in his home until the next Holiday Party in 2011.
Hopefully he’ll be able to pass along the award at that
time to another member. The scoop was donated by Kevin
Reilly of Reilly's Treasured Gold, Inc. in 2008.
SPECIAL THANKS FOR HOSTING A CLUB HUNT IN 2010
Engraved calculators were awarded to Ben Smith, Jim
Sharp and Paul Hamlin in appreciation for hosting club
hunts during 2010. Thank you, guys, for your hard work!

Pint-Sized Pirates Danny Mooney, Pauline Nash
and Radina Malchev each received holiday stockings.

IT’S A TOUGH JOB… …but somebody’s gotta do it! And for the past two
years, that person has been Mindy Spiroch, who has faithfully served as GCTC President. We thanked and
recognized Mindy for her years of service and then we
welcomed new President, Gary McNew.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN 2010 For the 15
th consecutive year, GCTC members
supported Home Safe, a haven for abused, abandoned,
and neglected children. A big thank you goes to everyone
who - despite the grim economy – helped us raise $260!
Once again, members collected and donated cell phones and ink cartridges to raise money for the club, as
well as hundreds of prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses
to benefit those who cannot afford prescription lenses.
