Derbyshire Education Improvement Service The New Religious Education Agreed Syllabus Between January and June 2020 we will be holding training events throughout the County, introducing the new SACRE Agreed Syllabus for RE for the coming 5 years. The training is open to all Derbyshire and Derby City schools and academies, and all attending schools will receive a copy of the new syllabus and guidance for all supporting digital materials. Based on the new OFSTED approach of intent, implement, impact, the one-day course focuses on practical classroom ideas and strategies, enabling teachers to get to grips with the new syllabus and find out how to apply and use it successfully in their schools. The course will be led by members of the RE Today Adviser Team, who have written the syllabus. They have a wide national reputation for practicality and excellence in RE CPD. The course is designed for secondary school RE teachers, subject leaders, HLTAs who teach RE, headteachers, governors and other interested stakeholders. Discounts are available for multiple delegates attending from the same school.

The New Religious Education Agreed Syllabus

Between January and June 2020 we will be holding training events

throughout the County, introducing the new SACRE Agreed Syllabus

The Introducing The New Religious

Education Agreed Syllabus is

designed to:

Introduce the new Agreed Syllabus for RE: it

is up to date, uses the current EYFS, National

Curriculum style, with increased flexibility and

extra support for planning RE, assessment

after levels, British Values work and SMSCD

Provide practical strategies, guidance and

resources for teachers and in planning

creative, challenging, thoughtful RE to

promote the personal development of pupils

Inspire teachers and help them to develop

their confidence in planning and delivering RE,

whether in the context of cross-curriculum

themes, RE days or discrete RE lessons.

Model examples of thoughtful RE, challenging

all pupils and promoting deeper thinking.

The Introducing The New Religious

Education Agreed Syllabus training is a

full day event, taking place in the following

Course charges start at £240 per delegate,
