The key to high productivity

We’ve opened the door for a new level of productivity in additive manufacturing, with the new Arcam EBM Spectra L. Our latest innovation offers increased productivity and reduces cost per part by 10%*. Due to an increased beam power of 4.5 kW and enhancements in the heat model control, the build speed is increased by 20%, compared to previous Arcam EBM machines.

The Spectra L allows for mass production of parts, by providing the option to tightly stack parts without comprising on quality. Electron Beam Manufacturing (EBM) technology provides you with freedom in design and allows you to build free floating parts in sintered powder. The supports are used for heat equalization and are easily removed when the build is finished.

The enhanced surface finish allows for improved material properties for applications with thin wall geometries and provides the freedom to design parts without limiting your imagination. In addition, the Spectra L offers the largest build volume of our Arcam EBM machines allowing for enhanced capacity to produce high-integrity parts larger, and faster, than ever before.

We’ve incorporated automated technology to improve the accuracy of the Spectra L while still reducing dependency on operators. The machine offers the new PRS30 system, which helps automation of powder blasting, improves ergonomics for the user and allows for a simple, and easy cleaning process. Some other key features include:• Development of an automated, self-dosing sieve and hopper

filling station process.• Powder weight is controlled in the PRS and inside the hopper

filling station• Automatic powder hoppers. Self-closing when lifted and

self-opening when mounted in the machine• One powder distribution set up for each material only and

calibration of the fetch position only needs to take place during a material change rather than before the machine starts and during a machine change
