Inspiring people.
Transforming business.™
WeSpire is the employee engagement platform that empowers forward-thinking global organizations to reach their greatest potential.
WeSpire looked at two years of employee user trends on our engagement platform to prove the network
effect
WHO AND WHAT CATALYZES IT?
ACTIONS ADD UP
To start, we examined how individual actions
accumulate over time
If the network effect is real, you’ll expect to see EXPONENTIAL GROWTH as actions add up, creating huge impact.
In this case, the action inspires employees to “donate gently used clothing to a charity”
At first, the trend for actions taken was linear…
Then, before the 1 year mark, growth turned exponential
Resulting in HUGE IMPACTover time.
THE NETWORK EFFECT IS REAL
But was there a change in the behavior of the people in the pro-gram?
We examined another action
DO MORE PEOPLE ON THE PLATFORM RESULT IN A HIGHER RATE OF COMPLETION (i.e. a bigger network)?
Although activity levels may fluctuate,
the actions add up over time signifi-cantly.
After one year, the likelihood of peo-ple taking this action is 5 times greater.THE NETWORK EFFECT IS REAL!
SOCIALIZERS ROCK!
If the network effect is
real, then who is catalyzing the change?
We looked at our engagement platform leaderboards that track user behaviors powered by our data science and segmented our user base into two behavioral change categories…
POWER USERS & SOCIAL USERS
People most passionate about the impact on the environment
People who are trustworthy, well-known,and/or social
“DARK GREENS” GREEN TEAM LEADERS
“CONNECTORS” OF THE COMPANY
Will drive the most actions over time
ASSUMPTION
VSWill invite more people to participate
We found that social users invite OVER TWICE AS MANY users to participate on the platform.
Social users also garnered OVER 10 TIMES MORE in-vites
However, power users individually com-pleted NEARLY 3 TIMES MORE ACTIONS than social users.
And yet, collectively those invited by social users (2nd generation) completed 3 TIMES MORE TOTAL ACTIONS than those invited by power users.
Conclusion: Socializers are the MOST IMPACT-FUL in the workplace, proving the power of the network.
