The Love of a Father!
This Sunday as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, we celebrate our belief that
the one God we worship is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three divine persons, one God.
The liturgy will proclaim that message and
homilists will attempt to give some insight into this central mystery of our Christian Faith. If the truth be told, in most cases this mystery will be just as obscure after the homily ends as it was
before the preaching began.
However we profess, “I believe in God, the Father Almighty&and in Jesus Christ, His only
Son Our Lord...l believe in the Holy Spirit” is connected with our lives and with the issues
of our day.
If we see ourselves as the center of the universe, those with whom we have no connection, no relationship, have no value in our eyes. The
unborn child, the homeless migrant, the unemployed single mother, the elderly veteran
wasting away in a nursing home, the teenager in a failed city school, the Christians persecuted for
daring to profess the name of Jesus, are not our concern.
Yet if we look at the Holy Trinity in whose image
we are made, we see we are made for relationships and made to interact with one
another in a dynamic and creative way as do the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
What a perfect day to celebrate and honor our
Fathers! God the Father has given us the
greatest sign of His Love.
Once a man overheard his son pray, ”
Dear God, make me the kind of
man my daddy is.” Later that night,
the father prayed, “Dear God, help me be the kind of man my son wants.”

Our Lady of Grace is available to visit your home. Many people have requested her for family members who were very seriously ill. Having the statue to look upon gave them great comfort.

“I like to contemplate the holiness present in the patience of God’s people: in those parents who raise their children with immense love, in those men and women who work hard to support their families, in the sick, in the elderly religious who never lose their smile. In their daily perseverance I see the holiness of the Church militant. Very often it is a holiness
found in our next-door neighbours, those who, living in the midst, reflect God’s presence. We might call them ‘the middle class of holiness’.” ~ Pope Francis
