What is the Incarnation?
Today, we celebrate the Incarnation of our Lord. But what does incarnation mean? The reason Christmas is so special is because we aren’t just celebrating the birth of a really cute baby and commemorating the day with presents, but rather we are remembering that God became man, that Jesus was willing to
humble Himself enough to become a human in order to save us and bring us to Heaven to be with Him. The Incarnation is thus that act of God becoming
man through Jesus’ birth, which is why we celebrate that today, on Jesus’ birthday. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Message from Fr. Caruso Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I consider myself to be very blessed to be with you in this loving and dedicated parish Family of St. John the Evangelist. There is a great Spirit of Love, Joy, Service and Welcome here. Your devotion to Jesus Christ, His Church, and the parish is manifested by your participation at Mass, at all the many events and the tremendous outreach to those in need. You give witness to a vibrant Catholic Christian community of Faith. Recently I came across these words: "Maybe the question we should ask is not what do we want for Christmas? but what do we want from Christmas." I believe that the question is answered by your loving witness to the Good News of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. A very Blessed Christmas to you and your loved ones. May the New year bring love, peace, joy, hope, and renewed Faith to our Parish Family of St. John the Evangelist. Love, Fr. Caruso

¡Feliz Navidad! ¡Felices Pascuas!
loable.
Comencemos bien A.D. 2.017
SYNOPSIS IN ENGLISH: The first article reminds us that the Christmas season begins on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and does not end until the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Jan. 9, 2017. Thus, keep the Christmas
greetings (NO “happy holidays”) and decorations going until at least Epiphany Sunday, Jan. 8! The second article urges us to start 2017 right with Holy Mass, given that Sun., Jan. 1 is the Lord’s Day and also a holy day of obligation for St. Mary, Mother of
God.
