Because of extraordinary donors like you, The Mustard Seed is able to build community, grow hope, and support change for people like Diane and Ed.

Thanks for giving hope.

Employment Our Employment Program aims to break down one of the major barriers in transitioning out of homelessness. Clients receive one-on-one coaching and other supports, such as assistance to obtain industry certifications and identification cards.

The Seed Academy, a pre-employment program and basic computer course, is a five day program teaching skills like resume writing, online job searching, and interviewing.

Community EngagementThe Community Engagement team raises awareness about homelessness and poverty, helps individuals build empathy and compassion, and encourages community involvement in our work.

SEEDschool is a unique, experiential learning program where students grade three and up get the chance to spend a week learning from our staff, residents, and other guest speakers. Meanwhile, service-learning opportunities for teens and college-age youth are provided through our DemoCrew program.

Community HubsWith the goal of preventing homelessness in our communities most at-risk, individuals of all ages can access The Neighbour Centre. Located in Marlborough Park is a family-friendly, drop-in community centre in one of Calgary’s most under-served communities. There, individuals can access advocacy, employment, housing, and wellness services. The Neighbour Centre also offers a homework club for children and daily activities and programs. The Mustard Seed also operates three other smaller community resource centres through a partnership with the Women in Need Society.
