Funeral Mass We will be celebrating the life of Mary Lee Seal on Saturday, June 9th at 11:00 am. The calling will begin at 10:00 am until the time of the Mass. She is survived by her siblings: Pat Crouch, John Seal, and David Seal, as well as many nieces and nephews. Please join us as we support Pat on the loss of her sister.
Estate Planning St. Jude Parish recently received a sum of money from the Katherine Boehle estate. Our thankfulness abounds at this generous bequest. Have you considered making St. Jude Parish a part of your financial planning? More information can be found on the Giving tab of the church website...

There is a special envelope for the Seminary Offering in your June packet of envelopes. It will be dated for the weekend of June 17th.
The Vocations Office receives funds each year from a second collection taken up throughout the Archdiocese to cover the expenses of educating our future priests. The archdiocese anticipates having about 25 seminarians in formation this fall. Thank you for your spiritual and financial support which provides the necessary education and formation for our priests. Please be generous in support of this collection and please continue to pray for vocations! If you know of a young man or woman you believe would serve well in priesthood or religious life, please call (317) 236-1496 and leave the individual’s name
and contact information with the vocation director, Fr. Eric Augenstein.
We are currently in need of volunteers to take communion to our parishioners who are no longer able to attend Mass. This is an opportunity to take the precious body of Christ to some wonderful people who really look forward to your visit. Becoming a link between these parishioners and their parish is one of the most rewarding ministries you can be involved in- sharing your faith and getting to experience their faith is so life-giving! We have several ways for you to be a part of this – in some cases we visit people right in their homes and in others, we take communion to people who may be in one of our local long-care facilities such as Rosegate, Magnolia Springs, or Altenheim. This ministry involves only about 2 hours a month and you schedule the visits so it is very flexible. Please consider volunteering by calling or emailing Bil Danner, 786-4371 or [email protected] Training will be provided and takes less than an hour. Thanks for your consideration!

WE ARE CALLED TO SERVE On any given day there are more than one hundred Catholic patients at IU, Riley and Methodist Hospitals. It is our Catholic tradition to provide daily Holy Communion and fellowship to our hospitalized brothers and sisters. I invite you to prayerfully consider this call to serve. You need not be a current Eucharistic Minister in your parish as volunteers are trained for the hospital and then commissioned. Training is provided by the hospital and chaplaincy service. Scheduling is flexible. Volunteers are needed to serve once a week or as occasional substitutes. Normally it takes two to three hours to visit the patients on any given day. Parking at the hospital is provided for volunteers. Please contact Deacon Pat Bower at [email protected] or 317-313-8010 for additional information.

June is Alzheimer’s &
Brain Awareness Month
Did you know:
· Alzheimer’s is fatal. It kills more than breast and prostate cancer combined.
· • Alzheimer’s is not normal aging. It’s a progressive brain disease without a cure.
· Alzheimer’s is more than memory loss. It appears through a vari-ety of signs and symp-toms.
What can you do to help? Wear Purple on June 10 to raise awareness for this disease. Learn about this disease to promote early detection. Support family caregivers for those loved ones who have the disease through helpful actions and prayer. There will be an information table in the narthex after all the Masses on June 9/10 with information on Alzheimer’s and other dementias, Caregiver support, and Advanced Care directives.

Looking for the Ministers’ Schedules? We’ve talked about it for weeks and it’s finally here! We have “hit the button” on the new online scheduler. You should have received an email by now with your opportunity to fill in availability. You should have also received a copy/access to your commitments for the next few weeks. If for some reason you didn’t, you can grab a paper copy at the welcome booth or in the Sacristy. You can also reach out to Patti Collins with any questions. [email protected] Music schedules will be on here too. For now, you can refer to an electronic PDF of the sched-ule through June on the parish website www.stjudeindy.org
Pray for Others The St. Jude Prayer Line requires little time and you do not need to leave your home, but it does demand a sincere desire to pray for others. We email the intentions to you. If you are interested in becoming a member or would like to request a special intention, please send an email to: [email protected]
