VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)
Volunteers are needed for VBS at St. Stephen ’s Monday, June 21 through Friday, June 25. We ask volunteers to help us from 8 am until 1 pm each day with tasks such as decorating, set-up, clean-up, games, snacks, music, crafts, and Bible story time. We are seeking both adult volunteers and youth volunteers entering 6 th grade this fall through those entering 12th grade. More information about volunteering and the exciting opportunities available are located on the Parish website.
Registration for preschool children through those entering 5th grade who desire to be a part of this year’s VBS is available until June 10, 2021. Each morning from 8:45 am until 12:30 pm children will be immersed in the greatest mystery as they spend a week learning about the treasure of the Mass through faith teachings, catchy music, fun games, crafts, and more!
Registration and consent forms for VBS attendees and volunteers are available on the Parish website. Printed copies are also available at the school and Church office.
Come be a part of the fun! For questions, please contact Maredith at [email protected].
St. Stephen’s Catholic Community is also seeking volunteers to assist with taking Holy Communion to homebound individuals and local assisted living facilities. We need help with funeral luncheons as well. If you are willing and able to serve, please contact Sr. Mary Anne in the Parish Office.
Would you like to occasionally help with hospitality after Mass? Let the Parish Office know and we will ask you from time-to-time. Thank you in advance!

This individual is responsible for assisting English and Hispanic formation staff with general
administrative duties, helping provide support for volunteers and students and facilitating
communication with families and volunteers of Faith for
Life/Hispanic Ministry, as well as any other tasks assigned
by the Director of Faith for Life and/or the pastor. This
position is part-time, twelve months, approximately
20 hours per week but also requires flexibility for
various nights and weekends throughout the school year.
Please see the Parish website for additional details.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to email Maredith
BE A PART OF HISTORY BY HELPING BUILD THE NEW ST. STEPHEN’S SCHOOL PLAYGROUND
The overwhelming generosity of our Mardi Gras donors in February of this year allowed St. Stephen’s to purchase a new playground for the school.
We now have a volunteer opportunity for members of our community to be a part of history while giving back to the children of our school and neighborhood. Come join us on Saturday, June 12 for our Community Build of the new St. Stephen’s school playground. We need 35 volunteers to assist for the full day starting at 8 am.
What are the requirements to volunteer? Volunteers must be 18+ years of age or 16+ years of age accompanied by and working with a parent. There will be jobs of all skill levels, so please considering signing up today! See the Parish website to access the SignUpGenius link.
What will volunteers do? Volunteers w ill complete a variety of assembly and installation tasks. A day-by-day Community Build sample video is available on the Parish website for reference.
What should I bring? Lunch, water, snacks, and all directions w ill be provided. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. Other recommended items are sunscreen and work gloves.
Besides volunteering, can I help in other ways? We need many volunteers and encourage others to join us in the Community Build! The Parish Office will accept donations of bottled water, Gatorade, canned soda, and individual snacks for our wonderful volunteers.
If you are interested, let us know! See the Parish website for the SignUpGenius link. For questions, please email Mary Jane at [email protected].
With limited volunteer opportunities this year and so few chances to work side by side with fellow parishioners, your service hours on June 12 will be appreciated! Come join us for this fun day that is so vital to our Community Build success. Thank you in advance!
Prayers and sympathy of the parish are offered to the family and friends of Michele Eagle. May her
soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

H eavenly Father, bless your church with an abundance
of holy and zealous priests, deacons, brothers and sisters.
Give those you have called to the married state and those you have chosen to live as single
persons in the world, the special graces that their lives require.
Form us all in the likeness of your Son so that in Him, with Him, and through Him, we may
love you more deeply and serve you more faithfully, always and everywhere.
With Mary, we ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Celebrant: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of
the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
Assembly Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but
only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.
For those who cannot be present to receive
M y Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You
sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were
already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
