Just as Downtown L.A. is undergoing a spectacular rebirth, Good Samaritan Hospital is undergoing an amazing transformation of its own. With the new Medical Pavilion, we have created a magnificent leading edge facility, which is home to the Frank R. Seaver Ambulatory Surgery Center, Radiation Oncology, physicians’ offices and boutique café.
For services closer to home, the Tom Bradley Center for Health Care, operated by Good Samaritan Hospital, is located on the second floor at Angelus Plaza in the heart of the historic Bunker Hill area of downtown Los Angeles.

Dear Readers,We are pleased to introduce our February Core Value: LOVE! This month we are focusing on the love that we all need to sustain us in this life: the love of friends, the love of strangers, the love of all humankind. With our African-American Heritage Film Festival, we celebrate the love of cultural history, and the love shown by those who fought, and continue to fight, for peace and racial equity. The Lunar New Year gives us another opportunity to love our neighbors and share an important cul-tural tradition. And, of course, we celebrate that unforgettable kind of love with our annual Valentine’s Day dance, where you can sweep your sweetheart off their feet, or meet the special someone you’ve been looking for. We’d LOVE for you to join us for these celebrations and so much more. Don’t forget to attend our Core Value Class on February 13th to learn more about the value of practicing love in your life.

Have you received your new Medicare card? The new cards were sent to California residents between May and July 2018. The new card will have a new Medicare number, instead of your Social Security number. If you have not received it, call Medicare (1-800-633-4227) to verify your address and request that it be mailed to you. Their phone line is open 24/7. Once you have received your new card, please remember:• Destroy your old Medicare card right away. Destroy your old card and copies of your old card to help protect your SSN and other personal information.• Start using your new Medicare card. Doctors,
other health care providers, and plans approved by Medicare know that Medicare is replacing the old cards, so carry the new card with you. Your Medicare coverage and benefits will stay the same.
• Keep your Medicare Advantage Plan card. If you’re in a Medicare Advantage Plan (like an HMO or PPO), keep using your Medicare Advantage Plan ID card whenever you need care. However, you should also carry your new Medicare card—you may be asked to show it.
• Protect your Medicare Number like you would your credit cards. Only give your new Medicare number to doctors, pharmacists, other health care providers, your insurer, or people you trust to work with Medicare on your behalf. Beware of people contacting you about your new Medicare card and asking you for your Medicare number, personal information, or to pay a fee for your new card. Medicare will never contact you uninvited to ask for your personal information.
