The Glorious Mysteries

Will be recited at 8:45am in the chapel each first Sunday of the month.

As I pictured the scene where Moses has to keep his arms raised so Joshua can win the battle, Aaron and Hur standing on either side of him and helping him keep those arms high, the Beatles song, “With a Little Help from my Friends” kept invading my thoughts. Corny, I know. Persistence is featured in all three of today's scriptures: Moses with his arms held high, Timothy charged with his mission, and the widow who nags the judge! Yet, it is Aaron and Hur who capture my attention because of the role of friends in making persistence possible! In all things, persistence in the face of difficulty is going to be necessary. But the best of us can get discouraged. This is where friendship can make all the difference. Yet, we have to be open to it and accept the gift that is offered. We all want to reach out to one we love who is struggling – allow others to do the same for us!

Homebound Eucharist If you have a family member or know of a parishioner on the eastside of Tucson in need of having Eucharist brought to them regularly, please contact the Parish Office at 751-4235.

Widowed Women Ministry

The Widow's Group is a fun, social, all-women's group that meets monthly for dinner at each other's homes or at restaurants to social-ize and catch up with each other. This ministry provides an encour-aging environment for women grieving the loss of a spouse. We enjoy social activities like going out to a movie and dinner, and we support each other on the path to recovery. If you are a widow, we extend a warm invitation to you to join the group. Please contact Theresa Harth at 520-749-4355.

Prayer Chain If you would like to be a part of the Prayer Chain, or have a pray-er request, all that’s required is to have a computer with internet access, an email address, a compassionate heart, and willingness to pray for others (no phone trees). For more information, contact Lyn Diehl at 751-4235 or [email protected]

Have You Moved?

Do you have a new address, phone number or family changes? Updating this information helps us serve the parish more effectively and saves on the cost of returned postage. Please call the Parish Office at 751-4235 to update your information.

World Mission Sunday and Collection will be observed next Sun-day, Oct. 23. During this Holy Year of Mercy, Pope Francis reminds us that we are all "commissioned to announce the mercy of God, the beating heart of the Gospel." Offerings made to the World Mission Sunday collection benefit over one thousand mission dioceses across the globe, providing education, health care, and seminary and religious formation to those most in need.

We have added a new “tab” on the homepage of our parish website (www.cccctucson.org)...Funeral Arrangements. We hope this will help get funeral service arrangements and other pertinent infor-mation out to our community about members of our parish who have passed into eternal life. This infor-mation is also available on our Prayer Chain.

Members of the student body and administration of St. Augustine Catholic High School will be in the court-yard after all masses on Oct. 22 and 23 with information about St. Augustine and to answer any questions you may have.

A 500-mile trek across Spain, beginning in St Jean Pied de Port, France and ending in Santiago, Spain.

Follow Ron Russell’s physical and spiritual journey. A Pilgrimage on El Camino de Santiago de Compostela --

The Way of St James A DVD presentation on the Camino de Santiago will be presented by Ron Russell who has completed this 500 Mile Hike (Pilgrimage) in April and May of 2016. If you have seen the movie “The Way”, you will have experienced a theatrical taste of what the Camino is. If you attend this presentation, you will experience this journey first hand by Ron, beginning in France, as he hikes over the Pyrenees Moun-tains, and continues hiking across the country of Spain for 34 days. For over 1,000 years, “pilgrims” have traveled these trails to com-plete a Pilgrimage to Santiago, where relics of St. James, an Apostle of Jesus, reside. In 2015, over 250,000 Pilgrims hiked/walked the Camino to Santiago. You will see scenes of the Camino trails, the countryside villages, Medieval bridges and the Santiago Cathedral. You will see places such as Finisterre and Muxia, where in Medieval times these places were viewed as the “End of the World”. Please join us on this pilgrimage! Bring your favorite snack and beverage to share!

"Safe Environment Corner" It’s time for our annual Safe Environment training. The meeting is scheduled for Tues., Oct. 25, 6:30pm, in the Community Center. ALL volunteers are required to attend training every year. Sign up sheets are located in the Community Center on the Bulletin Board.

Your donations of food, clothing, etc. are gratefully accepted at Corpus Christi. Please drop them off anytime the Parish Office is open (Mon - Fri 8:30am-4:30pm) or during weekend masses. Please do not leave donated items outside or by any doors. Thank you!
