Located at 15522 Main Street in Mill Creek, is Tab-las Woodstone Taverna, a Spanish Mediterranean tapas restaurant, which as mentioned by many resi-dents, is a wonderful addition to the Town Center.

FromthemomentwewalkedintoTablasWoodstoneTaverna,weweregreetedwithwarmwelcomingsmilesandamazinghospitality.Wewerequicklyintroducedtoourwaitstaff(whobythewaytookvery,verygoodcareofourlargepartytheentireevening)andusheredinpastalarge,free-standingcylindricalgasfireplacelocatedatthecentralcoreoftherestaurant,toourexpansive,almostrusticstyledsolidwoodtablewhichwaspre-setfor16guests.Tablasalsohasaverylargewineselectionandafullbartoquenchyourthirstifyousodesire.

Onceseated,Icouldnothelpbuttakeintheinteriordécor,andImustsayIwasimpressedwiththeenvironmentthathasbeencreatedhere.Tablashasaverywarmandcomfortableambiance;

candlesadornthewalls,thefreestandinggasfireplacewithasuspendedhood(afocalpointuponenteringtheestablishment),thebeautifulrusticsolidwood“largegrouptable”whichwewereseatedat,smallertablesliningthestorefrontwindows,andcozyraisedboothsliningtheinteriorwall.

Tapas (Spanishpronunciation: [‘tapas])-awidevarietyofappetizers,orsnacks,inSpanishcuisine.Theymaybecold(suchasmixedolivesandcheese)orwarm.

Tablashasseveralpagesoftapas&smallplatestosampleindi-vidually,tolayertogether,and/ortosharewithothers.(Theyalsohaveanicewinelistandafullbar).ThatnightClara(ourchef )hadmadeourchoiceseasyforusbycreatinganimpres-siveTapasmenuthatwewouldnotsoonforget.

WestartedoutwiththeBaconwrappedDateswithBalsamicReduction.Thesearrivedonaskewer(perfectforsharing/sampling),drizzledwithBalsamicreduction,andservedfourat

atimeonawoodplankwhichhadtheTablaslogoburnedin.Eventhoughtherewasseveralplanksbroughttoourtable,thesedisappearedveryquicklyasevery-oneexpresseddelightwhileeatingthisdish.AsthenextwaveofTapaswasbeingbroughtouttoourtable,weallbegantorealizethatthiswasjustthebeginning.

Salmon&DungenessTerrinew/housemadecrackers,GrilledAsparagusw/Aioli,Tigre’sStuffedmussels,

BakedFetaw/sundriedtomatoandKalamataolives,CalamariTendersw/SerranoAioli,andGazpachowithChilledVegetablesSoupbegantoarriveatourtableonedishafteranother.

Allofthesedishedwereamazing,TheSalmonandDungenessTerrinehadwon-derfulflavorandatexturethatliterallymeltedinyourmouth,itwashardnottoputaheapingamountofthisonyourhousemadecracker.TheGrilledAspara-guswascookedperfectly,retainingjusttherightamountofcrispnessandpairedwiththeAioliwasdelightfulonthetastebuds.TheTigre’sStuffedMussels,twowords-UniqueandAbsolutelyTasty(okthat’smorethantwowords)butreally,mostofushadneverexperiencedMus-selspreparedinthismanner.Ifyoulikemussels-thisisanabsolutelymusttrydish.TheCalamariTendersw/SerranoAioliwasanotherdishthatdisappearedveryquickly,theGazpachowithChilledVegetableSoup,inafewwords-Yum,Refreshing,Wow,Summery(isthataword?)and,Isthereanymore?

NeedlesstosaythatafterallthisTapas,wewereallfeelingsatisfied,butoutcamethemaincourse,SeafoodPaella.Thisdishhadbeenspeciallypreparedforourgroupanditwasspectacularinsize,visualpresentation,varietyandtaste.Thisisconsideredacommunitydishandwas

placedatthecenterofthetable,indi-vidualplatestakenoneatatime,dishedupbyouramazingwaitstaff,andbroughtbacktoustoenjoy.Thisdishhadsomeofeverythinginit,Shrimp,Mussels,But-terClams,allofwhichwerelayeredintoanamazinglyflavoredRicewithcheesesandLemonslicesadorningtheperimeter.Aswithallthedishedwehadpreviouslytasted,thisdishwasverydeliciousandenjoyabletoeat,providingamultitudeofwonderfulflavors,someguestshadsec-ondsandsomeevenhadthirds.

DessertwasalsoservedTapasstyle,Crèmebrulee,Cheesecake,IceCreams,andcustardsallgroupedandservedtogetheronseveralTablasbrandedwoodservingplanksfortheentirepartytosamplefrom,allverytasty.

Fromthebeginningofourevening,rightdowntotheverylastspoonfulofdessert,thefood,theserviceandourdiningexpe-rienceatTablas Woodstone Taverna wasagreatexperience.IknowIwillbediningtherefrequentlytosamplemorefromtheirextensivemenu.
