Just Look Around — God Loves You!!

A recent draft references the remarks which were previously posted on the door of a former Har-ding University Bible Department professor, Ken Neller. Prior to his decease a little over three years ago, in addition to work at Harding, he also served as a preacher and an elder in the Lord’s Church. I believe they are thought provoking and share them with you accordingly.

“If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.

If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring.

He sends you a sunrise very morning.

He reassures us with rainbows after His storms have passed.

He never rests when you stay away too long without calling.

He’s happy when you read the book He wrote.

He is joyous to see you completely satisfied with what He gives you.

He can live anywhere in the universe, but He chooses your heart.

Face it, friend — He is crazy about you!”

I hope in the reading of this you will join me, as I have again been reminded of God’s presence, and the further reflections of how good God is to each of us.

A servant with you.

Three Walks

In Ephesians 5, there are three walks mentioned. Each one of these walks is very important, not only for us to consider, but to make a daily application of in our lives as followers of Christ.

The first walk mentioned is “walk in love” (Ephesians 5:2). Christians are to express the same kind of love that Christ displayed toward us by His sacrifice on the cross. We should have a burning desire for all men to be saved (2 Peter 3:9; 1 Timothy 2:1-4; 2 Timothy 2:24-26) and work to help make that possible due to our love (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16; 1 Corinthians 15:58).

The second walk mentioned is “walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8). Since God’s word is representative of “light” (Psalm 119:105), and Christ embodies light, God’s children are to walk in the light. We are to walk in Christ or in teachings of His gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4-6) so we can stay out of the darkness.

The third walk mentioned is “walk carefully” (Ephesians 5:15). The idea presented is to carefully and wisely walk in strict adherence to God‘s word, guarding ourselves from the world’s ungodly influence (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18).

Walking has been proven to be very beneficial for our health. It keeps our hearts and muscles healthy with regular prac-tice. Spiritually walking can be beneficial as well, as it keeps us in the light and by Jesus’ side.

God Bless, Chase
