"THE SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE" – The third project meeting in Leverkusen, Germany A group of eight students and four teachers from the Secondary School Dăești, Popeşti, Vâlcea participated at a Project meeting in Leverkusen -Opladen, Germany, between 2nd to 6th of December, 2013. It is the 3rd project meeting of the Multilateral Comenius Partnership Project “The School of the Future“.
Leverkusen is a city in North Rhine - Westphalia, Germany. Leverkusen belongs partly to the Bergisches Land region, but it is considered a city in the Rhineland region.

MONDAY – DECEMBER 2nd, 2013.Presentations at school
Each partner presented the chosen theme for investigation for the second year of the project. The team of Romania introduced the subject of investigation: "Teacher of the Future" - How students see the teacher in the future and what he should do to attract students to a successful and lasting learning (Lifelong learning).
The Romanian team of students presented a ppt presentation in terms of information and communication techniques..
In the afternoon we visited Leverkusen Rathaus Galerie, a shopping center in the city of Leverkusen.
DAY 1MONDAY, DECEMBER 2nd 2013
Tuesday - December 3rd, 2013
We had a documentation day in Cologne. At 09.00 we met at the Opladen train station and we cought a first glimpse of Cologne, from the Triangle Tower. The view was amazing. Next we walked on the Rhine Bridge towards Cologne and after that we visited the Christmas markets .
At around 13.00 we were ready to get headphones for the documentation visit at the Cathedral of Cologne. We visited it, with a guide, listening through headphones the information in English. It is by far the symbol of the city: the medieval city developed around it. The twin towers are visible from almost the entire city. If the exterior is impressive, the interior is stunning, with scenes from the Old and New Testament. Afterwards we went on a short tour through the old town of Cologne.
DAY 2TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3rd 2013
Wednesday - December 4th, 2013
mayor of Leverkusen wanted to talk to the students from this project and then invited us in the Council Room of City Hall, where he spoke about the achievements of the city, about the benefits of schools patnerships.We visited Leverkusen. The morning city tour by bus was accompanied by a guide who explained the history of the city.
At 11.00 we stoped for a reception at Leverkusen City Hall. We participated at an activity that impressed us all through the solemnity and uniqueness. Te In the afternoon we went to Solingen - Burg with the german students.It was an impresive medieval castle. Then followed "Bergischer Kaffee”, a coffee break with German waffes.
DAY 3WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4th, 2013
Thursday - December 5th, 2013Workshops at school
In the morning we participated in various creative workshops at the school, where students prepared ornaments for the room in which we would have dinner and meet St Nicholas.
In the afternoon we went to the skatting rink in Leverkusen, a wonderful place where we participated at the activity "Leverkusen on ice!“
In the evening, at 18.00, we ,the students, teachers and parents, participated at a farewell party in the large hall adorned with ornaments and a traditional buffet made by the German students and their families. Each group in the project, sang a traditional Christmas carol. St Nicholas came and gave us gifts!!
DAY 4 THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5th, 2013
Friday - December 6th, 2013Goodbye!
There was a meeting at the school where we said good-bye and planned the next steps of the project. It was a wonderful meeting where a lot of new friendships were made!
