THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business and community life. FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Hello all!
Welcome to our meeting and thank you PE John for
running this. I am on a business trip from now until
the 29th of November, so I will leave you in the ca-
pable hands of our secretariat, PE John, PP Albert,
and our spouses’ committee.
It was another busy weeks for the district and for
our club. PP Diony began distribution of our club
barongs at the last meeting, while PP Herman and
PP Mark helped plan and organized the District’s interact youth event,
which was held on November 8th. Congratulations to you guys for a
successful event!
Meanwhile, our club participated in the Zone 6,7, and 8 PWD flagship
project, together with Jose Rizal University, our partner in service. Our
zone sent over more than 20 beneficiaries, while our club co-sponsored
the bottled water and the transportation at the event. On November
15, we are again joining a zone 8 project, the Mandaluyong Rotary
Day, which features a medical mission, dental mission, and job fair.
Jose Rizal University has again agreed to participate by sending 30 stu-
dent marshals and 29 student nurses. We are again sponsoring the wa-
ter, and they are lending some tables. Please do drop by … if anything,
we get club points for participating. More importantly, it does feel
good to get up close to a service project! Trust me on this one, and I
would love to see you there. This is followed by a district fund run and
picnic on November 16 at the Marikina Sports complex. We have ten
tickets to this, so please contact the secretariat if you are interested.
I’ve also sent out an email with the details. We also have 10 tickets for
the TRF dinner to be held at the Sofitel on November 29th.
Next page pls…..

Continuation of Pres. Corner …...
A delegation from RC Jeonju-Poongnam from Korea will be visiting us
on November 22nd. Details to follow, but please save the date! They
have been great supporters of our projects, and it would be good to
show them our hospitality. This is also the date of our fellowship night
spearheaded by the spouses committee.
Meanwhile, our DRAP Global grant project is well underway. Our kick
-off date is December 8th at the Mandaluyong City hall, with Mayor
Abalos in attendance. Do save the date. As of publication, seven Zone
8 clubs have agreed to participate. Thanks too to PP Ito Carlos and PP
Oscar for their support. PP Bert and myself on the other hand, will sup-
port our global grant for livelihood training, spearheaded by RC Wack-
Wack. More details on that to come.
Lastly, our interact club at MPNAG is requesting donations of old
clothes and the like that they can sell during their Christmas fund-
raising drive. Please coordinate with Chris at the secretariat should you
want to donate. They are requesting donations as their fund-raising
sale is tentatively scheduled for December 6th. This is also the date of
our Christmas party.
That’s all the space I have here but we do have a lot going on as we
strive to “LIGHT UP ROTARY.” Cheers!

Good day, fellow Rotarians.
On behalf of Pres. Gion, your humble treasurer will be con-
ducting our meeting today. Before I continue, please take note
of the activities below and check if you can contribute to the
success of them:
1. Zone 8 Rotary Day Venue: Mandaluyong City Hall Date: November 8, 2014
Saturday Time: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Note: Club point for 5 members to visit the
event.
2. Rotary Fun Run Date: November 9, 2014 Sunday Venue: Marikina Sports
Complex Time: 7 a.m.
3. Visit of Korean Rotarians Date: November 22, 2014 Saturday.
4. TRF Dinner Date: November 29, 2014 Saturday.
All members are encouraged to participate in the events listed above. For those who
can join us in welcoming the Korean delegates, please get details from me or our club
secretariat. Tickets for the TRF dinner will also be available upon request.
Given the numbers of activities being lined up for the coming weeks, I need to inform
our fellow members that our club fund is running low already. It seems that most of
us are really pre-occupied with our daily works, and have somehow pushed our club
statements to the other side of our desks. Starting today, your club treasurer will be
sending reminder messages through text to individual members who have yet to settle
their obligations. Please understand that your club dues are the gasoline which keep
our club engine running. Without fuel, our club will come to a standstill even though
we have tons of projects on our drawing board.
It is hoped that you could make our club statements your top priority this coming
week. Again, you can contact me anytime if you need our secretariat to pick up your
cheques from your office or residence. (0917-5222580)

One In A Million
Love had played its games on me so long
I started to believe I'd never find anyone
Doubt had tried to convince me to give in
Said you can't win
But one day the sun it came shinin' through
The rain had stopped and the skies were blue
And oh, what a revelation to see
Someone was saying "I love you" to me
A one in a million, chance of a lifetime
And life showed compassion
And sent to me a stroke of love called you
A one in a million you
I was a lonely man with empty arms to fill
Then I found a piece of happiness to call my own
And life is worth living, again
For to love you, to me, is to live
A one in a million, chance of a lifetime
And life showed compassion
And sent to me, a stroke of love, called you
A one in a million you
A one in a million, chance of a lifetime
And life, showed compassion
And sent to me a stroke of love called you
A one in a million you, a one in a million you
