So what is delivering?

1. A database of different manufacturer’s and retailer’s products to go on SPOKES website

Including info on:•Type (wall mounts, pulleys, stands, lockers, shelters)•Internal or external•Relative expense•Ease of installation •Overall positives and negatives of each ‘type’

NB. Many interviewed have bespoke facilities made for them. What does this tell us about what’s on the market?

Issues (Katherine Ivory)

• Building standards, esp for stairwell storage• Developing good relations with neighbours• Engaging landlords - ‘Cycle-Friendly Landlord’

accreditation??• Abandoned bikes• On-street storage – design, Streetscape,

residents’ reactions…• Funding for communal storage improvements• New-build flats (‘Cycle-Friendly Developer’

accreditation?)

Solutions…….

• In your own flat it should be straighforward– But beware ‘listed building’ issues

• In ‘common areas’ inside ask neighbours– Again beware of the regulations!

• Outside can be a problem– Much more likely to be objections

• Regulations and flexibility– Recommendations to SPOKES
