*Affirmation of Faith Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church*, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

*Hymn of Faith “Brethren, We have met to Worship”

(Ushers come forward on last verse)

Prayer of Dedication & Presentation of Our Tithes & Offerings

Offertory

“Doxology (Romans 11)”

Brethren we have met to worship And adore the Lord God; Will you pray with all your power While we try to preach the word. All is vain unless the Spirit Of the Holy One comes down; Brethren pray and holy manna Will be showered all around.

Brethren see poor sinners round you Slumbering on the brink of woe; Death is coming, hell is moving, Can you bear to let them go? See our fathers and our mothers, And our children sinking down, Brethren pray and holy manna Will be showered all around.

Sisters will you join and help us? Moses’ sister aided him; Will you help the trembling mourners Who are struggling hard with sin? Tell them all about the Saviour, Tell them that He will be found; Sisters pray and holy manna Will be showered all around.

Let us love our God supremely, Let us love each other too; Let us love and pray for sinners, Till our God makes all things new. Then He’ll call us home to Heaven, At His table we’ll sit down; Christ will gird Himself and serve us With sweet manna all around.

Oh the depth of the riches Of the wisdom and knowledge of God. How unsearchable His judgements, How untraceable His paths. Who knows the mind of our God, And who can bring council to Him? Who has given to God, That God should repay?

For from Him, through Him, To Him, is everything.

To God be the glory forever and ever. To God be the glory forever, a-men.

*Doxology - No. 731

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below: Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host: Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, which art in heaven; Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Sermon

“Dying for Unity” -Rev. David Yoran

*Closing Hymn

“We’ve a Story to Tell to the Nations”

*Benediction

*Threefold Amen

*Postlude *The congregation stands

We’ve a story to tell to the nations That shall turn their hearts to the right, A story of truth and mercy, A story of peace and light A story of peace and light

For the darkness shall turn to dawning, And the dawning to noon-day bright, And Christ’s great kingdom shall come on earth- The kingdom of love and light.

We’ve a message to give to the nations - That the Lord who reigneth above Hath sent us His Son to save us And show us that God is love, And show us that God is love.

For the darkness shall turn to dawning, And the dawning to noon-day bright, And Christ’s great kingdom shall come on earth- The kingdom of love and light.

We’ve a Savior to show to the nations Who the path of sorrow hath trod, That all of the world’s great peoples Might come to the truth of God, Might come to the truth of God.

For the darkness shall turn to dawning, And the dawning to noon-day bright, And Christ’s great kingdom shall come on earth- The kingdom of love and light.

Why do we worship the way we do at Carolina?

That's a great question! Each church is different in it's style, song selection, and order of service. At Carolina Presbyterian Church, our goal is to do everything in worship in a manner that glorifies God and edifies our congregation. Below is our worship philosophy which attempts to capture these key values. As always, please come and talk with any church leader if you have questions about this. We are thrilled to join with you in the worship of our Lord together!

Carolina PCA Philosophy of Worship:

At Carolina Presbyterian Church, we desire to worship God in a manner that is both glorifying to God and edifying to our congregation.

To glorify God, we seek to worship him with excellence, with an attitude of reverence (considering God’s holiness) and celebration (considering God’s grace), with a Christ-centered focus rooted in reformed theology and founded on the word of God.

To edify our congregation, we seek to worship God with some stylistic variation that reflects some of the preferences of our multi-generational church and community. We seek to employ these different styles in a way that promotes love and unity within the same worship service.
