Concept - Objectives
CONCEPTOperation of a “Center of Excellence in Low-energy Ion-Beam Research and Applications”. The acronym LIBRA refers to the “balance” between fundamental research and applications the project seeks to achieve.
OBJECTIVESTo enhance further the research potential of the Tandem Accelerator Laboratory and its research group through the implementation of the coherent set of measures provided by the FP7/REGPOT programme. LIBRA targets three different research directions: 1. The study of stellar nucleosynthesis, with special emphasis on the so-called
p process.2. The experimental search for dynamical symmetries in nuclear structure, and3. The development and implementation of novel nuclear techniques in cultural
heritage studies, biomedicine research, environment monitoring and ion-beam micro-machining.
