REQUIREMENTS:
Original LEED AP: None
Green Associate: 15 hrs/2 yrs
AP w/ Specialty: 30 hrs/2 yrs
CMP PURPOSE
• Grow professionals’ knowledge base
• Stay current with best practices
• Demonstrate meaningful expertise in a transforming marketplace
CMP REPORTING PERIOD
• Your reporting period is 2 years from the date that you earned your credential or opted-in to a specialty credential
• If you have multiple credentials the reporting period for all of them will be the same
TESTING OPTION
• If you don’t want to do continuing education, you can maintain your credential by re-taking the applicable test every two years.

PRESCRIPTIVE CMP*
*Prescriptive CMP is only required for the first 2 year reporting period of a LEED Specialty Credential that

CMP ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS
• Address one or more topics related to green building
• Not endorse or promote any companies or products
• Increase the competency of LEED Professionals
• Follow current green building practices

CE DELIVERY METHODS
ERB-APPROVED ACTIVITIES• 1 CE for each hour of
course work• Usually live

• Can be LEED Specific• No limit on number of
hours earned in this method
LIVE PRESENTATIONS
• 1 CE for each hour of presentation
• Can be given in person or online but must be live not recorded
• Cannot be LEED Specific• 5 CE unit maximum for
attending
SELF-STUDY
• 1 CE for each hour of studying
• Structured courses or unstructured reading
• Can be LEED Specific if studying a LEED Reference Guide or referenced standard
• 5 CE unit maximum
COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY COURSES• 1 CE for each classroom
hour or 2 hours for time spent developing course
• Must earn credit hours toward a degree
• Can be LEED Specific if 75% or more of the course is LEED related
• No limit on number of hours earned in this method
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, CREDENTIALS
• 1 CE for certificates, 3 CEs for licenses or credentials
• Only for designations earned during your reporting period
• Can be LEED Specific for additional LEED credentials
• No limit on number of hours earned in this method
COMMITTEE OR VOLUNTEER WORK• 2 CE for a leadership
position, .5 CE for meeting attendance or 1 CE per hour of work
• For USGBC or GBCI committee participation or volunteering on sustainable home builds
• Can be LEED Specific• 4 CE unit maximum
AUTHORSHIP
• 3 CE for published article, 10 CE for published book
• Can be LEED Specific if 75% or more of the publication is related to LEED
• No limit on number of hours earned in this method but hours will be audited
LEED PROJECT PARTICIPATION• 1 CE per credit or
prerequisite, 2 CE for being LEED project administrator
• LEED Specific• 10 CE unit maximum

• All reported hours except for authorship should be marked “pre-approved” within 48 hours
• If reported hours are not marked “pre-approved” they were not submitted correctly
• Once all hours are reported you will be able to submit all hours for final review
• 5-7% of submissions will be audited.
