1.) ThewordoftheCoronetislawwithinthePrincipality.TheCoronetacknowledges,andissubjectto,modernlaw,thegoverningdocuments(CorporaandPolicies)oftheSocietyforCreativeAnachronism(SCA,Inc.)andthecurrentwrittenLawsandPoliciesoftheKingdomofAnTirandthePrincipalityoftheSummits.TheCoronetshallbecognizantoftherightsandprivilegesofitsvassalsandsubjectsbytradition,custom,andusage.

ARTICLEI.B AmendmentstoPrincipalityLaws

1.) TheLawsofthePrincipalitymaybeamendedbytheCoronetwiththeCrown'sapprovalandafterreviewbyboththeKingdomandPrincipalitySeneschals.AmendmentstotheLawmustbesubmittedtotheCrownofAnTirinwritingandreceivetheCrown'ssignaturesbeforebeingproclaimed.

2.) TheamendmentsmustthenbeproclaimedatanofficialSummitsevent.

3.) TheamendmentsmustbepublishedintheCrieroranypublicationthatisrecognizedassomeformoftheofficialnewsletteroftheKingdomofAnTir.IfthelawchangesarepublishedinsomeformatotherthanaregularmonthlyissueoftheCrier,anotificationofthelawchangesandwheretheywillbepublishedmustappearinthenextavailableeditionoftheCrierandtheEchoes.

4.) Noprovisionoflawshallbeineffectnorshallanysubjectsberesponsibleforsuchprovisionuntilthespecifiedproclamationandpublicationshavetakenplace.

ARTICLEI.C EditionsoftheLaw

1.) Thisisthecurrentedition(JanuaryXLIX,2016Gregorian)oftheLawsofthePrincipalityoftheSummits,allearlierversionsarerepealed.

4.) TheCoronetagreestoallowpersonalaccessinformationtobepublishedintheCrierandtheEchoesandonofficialsocietywebsite(s).

5.) TheCoronetmaydelegateuntoanysubjecttheexecutionofCoronetpowerforastatedspecificpurposesuchastransmissionofanawardtoapersonproperlynamedandselected.

6.) TheCoronetwillrenderanOathofFealtyforTheirlandsateachCoronationoftheSovereignandConsortofAnTir.ThisOathmaybedeliveredbyletter,butmustberenewedinpersonatthefirstopportunity.

7.) TheCoronetshallprovideareportontheStateofthePrincipalitytotheCrownofAnTirateachCoronation.CopiesshallbesenttotheTanistandbanTanist,asapplicableandmaybesenttotheKingdomandPrincipalitySeneschals.

8.) TheCoronetshallattendallPrincipalityandCoroneteventsduringTheirreign.

9.) TheCoronetshalladheretothepoliciessetforthanddefinedintheSummitsFinancialPolicy.

ARTICLEII.B Proclamations

1.) ProclamationsshallbeunderstoodtobeineffectonlyduringthereignoftheCoronetandshalllapseupontheInvestitureofTheirSuccessors.

ARTICLEII.C CoronetLists

1.) TheCoronetlistsshallbefoughtattwoCoronetTournamentsperyear.

a.) SpringCoronetTournament–TheweekendclosesttoSpringEquinox.

b.) FallCoronetTournament-ThirdweekendinSeptember.

2.) Allcombatantsandconsortsmustbe:

a.) PaidmembersoftheSCA,Inc.andhaveaccesstoofficialsocietywebsites.

b.) Aminimumofeighteenyearsofage.

c.) ThecombatantmustbearesidentofthePrincipalityforatleast1yearandmustlivewithinthePrincipalityoftheSummitsforthedurationoftheirreign.TheCoronetmaygrantexceptionstothisrequirement,ifrequestedinadvanceandiftheCoronetissatisfiedthatthecombatantandconsortwillmeetallobligations.

3.) AllauthorizedfighterswhomeettherequirementsoftheCoronetlistsstatedaboveandareacceptabletotheCoronethavetherighttocompeteintheCoronetlists,unlesstheyareinviolationofthegoverningdocumentsofthesociety,orthelawsofthekingdomorprincipality.

4.) Bothcombatantandconsortmusthavetheirmembershipsandcombatant'sauthorizationstatusconfirmedbythePrincipalitySeneschalandMinisterofthelists.Onceconfirmed,thecombatant'snamemaybeenteredintheCoronetLists.

5.) AllcombatantsandconsortsmustbepresentonthedayoftheCoronetTournamentandpresentthemselvestotheCoronet.ThedecisionastotheacceptabilityofeachparticipantrestssolelywiththeCoronetandisfinal.

6.) ByenteringtheCoronetlists,acombatantdeclaresthats/hehasaconsortoftheoppositegenderwhohasagreedtoreignwiththem,shouldthecombatantwin;howevershouldtheCrownofAnTirelecttoallowsamesexcouplesintheRoyallists,theCoronetthenhastheoptiontoallowsamesexcouplesintheSummitsCoronetlists.

7.) Nocombatantmayfightformorethanoneprospectiveconsortandnopersonmayhavemorethanonecombatantfightingforhim/herinagivenCoronetlists.

8.) DuringtheinvocationoftheCoronetlists,allcombatantsandconsortsshalldeclarethatthey:

a.) AreloyaltotheCrownofAnTirandtheCoronetoftheSummits

b.) WillupholdthelawsoftheKingdomofAnTirandthePrincipalityoftheSummits

c.) WillrespectthecustomsandtraditionsoftheKingdomofAnTirandPrincipalityoftheSummits.

9.) NeitherthePrincenorthePrincessmayfightorbefoughtforintheCoronetlists.

10.) NooneshallcompetefortheCoronetwithoutintendingtoreignshouldtheywin.

11.) BothcombatantandconsortareawarethatthepositionsofPrinceandPrincessoftheSummitsmayrequireexpendituresinexcessofmembershipfeesandallowablereimbursements.

ARTICLEII.D CombatConventions

1.) TheCoronetlistscombatconventionsshallbedeterminedbytheCoronet.

2.) ThecombatconventionswillbepublishedinTheEchoesandpostedontheofficialSummitswebsiteatleastonemonthpriortotheCoronetTournament.

ARTICLEII.E ListsVictory,InvestitureofTanistandbanTanist(Tanista)

1.) UponvictoryoftheCoronetTournament,thevictorandconsortshall:

a.) BeinvestedastheCoronetheirsandtitledTanistandbanTanist(orTanista).

b.) SwearfealtytothePrinceandPrincessoftheSummitsandobediencetoKingdomandPrincipalitylaws.

c.) Withintendays,provideproofofSCAmembershipsthroughtheendoftheirupcomingreigntothePrincipalitySeneschal.

d.) AdheretothepoliciessetforthanddefinedintheSummitsFinancialPolicy

ARTICLEII.F InvestitureofthePrinceandPrincess

1.) TheInvestitureofthePrinceandPrincessshalltakeplaceataPrincipalityCoronetInvestiture.

2.) ThePrincipalityoftheSummitsshallhavetwoCoronetInvestitureswhichshalltakeplaceonthefollowingcalendardates:

a.) SummerInvestiture-JuneweekendclosesttoSummerSolstice

b.) WinterInvestiture(11thNight)-SecondweekendinDecember

3.) AtTheirInvestiture,theCoronetHeirsshall:

a.) SwearfealtytotheCrownofAnTirandobediencetotheLawsoftheKingdomofAnTir.ShouldtheCrownnotbepresenttoaccepttheiroaths,writtenoathsshallbesenttotheCrownuponInvestitureandspokenoathsswornin-personatthefirstopportunity.

b.) AcceptfealtyfromtheRoyalPeers,PeersandpopulaceofthePrincipalityoftheSummits.

c.) BeinvestedwiththecustomaryinvestitureceremonyforthePrinceandPrincessofthePrincipalityoftheSummits,incorporatingtheirpersonaastheydesire.

ARTICLEII.G TournamentInvalidation,FailuretoInvest

1.) ShouldaCoronetTournamentbedeclaredinvalidortheTanistandbanTanistelecttoabdicatevialettermailedtothePrincipalitySeneschal,aCoronetListsshallbecalledfortheSaturdaymorningofCoronetInvestiture.

2.) ThisCoronetInvestitureListsshallbelimitedtocurrentlyeligiblefighterswhocompetedinthepreviousCoronetLists.

3.) ATanistandbanTanistwhoabdicateareexplicitlyexcludedasbothcombatantsandconsortsfromtheCoronetInvestiturelists.

4.) AnypersonorpersonswhoseactionsorinactionswerethegroundsforaninvalidationoftheCoronetTournamentareexplicitlyexcludedasbothcombatantandconsortfromtheCoronetInvestitureLists.

5.) ShouldtheTanistandbanTanist,throughnofaultofTheirown,beunabletoattendTheirInvestiture,suchstepsasnecessaryandacceptabletoThemandtheCoronetshallbetakenthatTheymayachieveTheirCoronet.AnannouncementofthechangewillbemadeassoonaspossibleintheEchoesandofficialSummitswebsite.

ARTICLEII.H FailuretoReign

1.) ShouldeitherthePrinceorPrincessbeunabletocompletethereign,orelecttoabdicate,theothershallassumethedutiesofbothfortheremainderofthereign.

2.) ShouldbothPrinceandPrincessbeunabletocompletethereign,orelecttoabdicate,administrativedutiesoftheCoronetshallfalltotheDefenderoftheSummits,whoshallserveasRegentandtheCoronetshallreverttotheCrownofAnTiruntilsuchtimeasaCoronetTournamentmaybeheld.

3.) FailureofthePrinceandPrincesstoattendarequiredCoroneteventconstitutesfailuretoreignandshallbetakenasabdicationunlessthefailuretoattendisbeyondthecontroloftheCoronetandnofailuretoreignisdemonstrated.

4.) AletterfromthePrinceorPrincessmailedtothePrincipalitySeneschalindicatingintenttoabdicateconstitutesofficialabdication.

ARTICLEII.I TheRegent

1.) ShouldtheDefenderoftheSummitsbeunabletofulfilltheRegent'sduties,theCrownshallappointaRegentandtheDefenderoftheSummitsmaynotfightorbefoughtforinthenextCoronetTournament.

2.) TheRegentshallnothavetheauthoritytoamendorchangetheLawsofthePrincipality,tomakeproclamationsortobestowawards.

3.) ShouldtheCoronetabdicationoccurwithoutCoronetHeirs,theRegentshallimmediatelyinvestthevictorandconsortofthenextCoronetTournamentasPrinceandPrincess.

4.) TheRegentmaynotfightorbefoughtforintheCoronetLists.

5.) ShouldCoronetabdicationoccurafteraCoronetTournament,theRegentshallinvesttheTanistandbanTanistasPrinceandPrincessatthenextscheduledInvestitureEvent.

ArticleIII. OFFICERSOFCOURTANDSTATEARTICLEIII.A OfficerResponsibilities

1.) AllOfficersofCourtandStateshall:

a.) BeapaidmemberoftheSCAInc.andhaveaccesstotheCrier,theEchoes,andofficialSummitswebsiteattheirplaceofresidence.

b.) Beaminimumofeighteenyearsofage.

c.) BearesidentofthePrincipalityandactiveforatleastoneyearpriortoholdinganofficeandresidewithinthePrincipalityforthedurationoftheirtermofservice.

d.) ExecutethelawfulcommandsoftheCrownofAnTirandtheCoronetoftheSummitsandabidebySociety,KingdomandPrincipalityLawandpolicies.

e.) SwearanOathofFealtyorOathofServicetotheCoronetoftheSummits.

f.) CarryoutadditionaldutiesasareappropriatetotheirofficeandasdirectedbytheirKingdomsuperiorortheCoronet.

g.) AgreetoallowpersonalcontactinformationtobepublishedintheCrierandtheEchoesandonofficialsocietywebsites.

h.) AttendthefourCoronetEventseachyear(SpringCoronet,SummerInvestiture,FallCoronetandWinterInvestiture),unlessreceivinganexemptionfromtheCoronet.

i.) AttendMootateachCoronetEvent.

2.) NoPrincipalityOfficermayholdmorethanoneofficeatatime(i.e.abranchand/oraPrincipalityand/oraKingdomofficeatthesametime).Exceptionsmaybegrantedbybothoftherelevantsuperiorofficers,inwriting,withtheconcurrenceoftheCoronet(inthecaseofanOfficerofCourt)orthePrincipalitySeneschal(inthecaseofanOfficerofState)onacase-by-casebasis.

ARTICLEIII.B OfficersofCourt-PrincipalityChampions

1.) PrincipalityChampionsareconsideredtheOfficersoftheRoyalCourt.

2.) PrincipalityChampionsareselectedthroughcompetitionratherthanbyappointment.

3.) Championsshallserveforaperiodofoneyearoruntilthenextapplicablechampionshipisheld.

4.) ShouldaChampionbecomeanHeirtotheCrownorCoronet,orisunabletofulfilltheobligationsoftheposition,thatchampionshipshallbesurrenderedandasuitablereplacementappointedbytheCoronet.

5.) Championsshallbeexemptfromeventfeesfortheeventatwhichtheirsuccessorischosen.

6.) ChampionsshallbeconsideredDeputiesoftheOfficerofStateoftheappropriatePrincipalityofficer.AcompletedChangeofOfficerformwillbesubmittedtotheappropriatePrincipalityofficerwithinonemonthofbecomingChampion.

7.) AllPrincipalityChampionsshall:

a.) StandarmedneartheCoronetatalleventsthattheChampionattends.

b.) Bearanddisplaytheregaliaoftheirposition.

c.) Furthertheinterestsoftheirareaofendeavor.

d.) WorkwiththeappropriatePrincipalityofficerandassistwithtournaments,championships,classesandteachingopportunities.

e.) WorkwiththeappropriatePrincipalityofficerormarshaltoplan,organizeandconductthetournamentorchampionshiptodeterminetheirsuccessor,withtheconcurrenceoftheCoronet.

f.) AnnounceateventsandpublishontheofficialSummitswebsitetherulesandguidelinesforthechampionshiptournament/competitionthatwilldeterminetheirsuccessor.

8.) DesignationsofChampions:

a.) TheCoronetshalldetermineandcreatesuchtitledChampionsastheydeemnecessary.

b.) TheChampionsofthePrincipalityoftheSummitsare:

i.) DefenderoftheSummits(HeavyChampion)

ii.) AlpineScholar(ArtsandSciencesChampion)

iii.) CaptainofEagles(ArcheryChampion)

iv.) CaptainofCats(RapierChampion)

v.) OutrideroftheSummits(EquestrianChampion)

vi.) BardoftheSummits(BardicChampion)

vii.) KapitanSerebraTigraCaptainoftheSilverTiger(Princess'Cut&ThrustChampion)

ARTICLEIII.C OfficersofState

1.) AllofficersofstateofthePrincipalityoftheSummitsareresponsibleforcarrying-outthelawsandbusinessaffairsoftheprincipality.

2.) ThegreaterofficersofthePrincipalityoftheSummitsshallbe:PrincipalitySeneschal,BleuGraelHerald,EarlMarshal,ChancelloroftheExchequer,MinisterofArtsandSciences,Chronicler,Chatelaine,GryphonScribe,andFamilyActivitiesCoordinator,Webminister.

3.) Allofficersofstateshall:

4.) BeappointedbytheexistingofficerandtheKingdomsuperiorwiththeconcurrenceoftheCoronet.

5.) FilequarterlyreportsaccordingtoKingdomLaw,ArticleIII.D.

6.) ProvidecopiesofallquarterlyreportstotheirKingdomsuperior,theCoronet,CoronetHeirsandPrincipalitySeneschal.

7.) AttendMootatthefourCoroneteventsandprovideareportonthestatusoftheirofficeandtheirbranchofficers.AnofficermayreceiveanexemptionfromattendingaspecificMootbythePrincipalitySeneschalwiththeconcurrenceoftheCoronet;howevertheContingencyDeputyoradesignatedrepresentativemustattendintheofficer'ssteadandprovidethereport.

8.) SelectandwarrantaContingencyDeputywithinsixtydaysofassumingoffice.TheContingencyDeputyshall:

a.) FulfillofficerresponsibilitiesasshowninArticleIII.A.1-7

b.) Administerthedutiesoftheofficeoftheprincipalitysuperiorofficerif,forwhateverreason,theprincipalitysuperiorofficercannotcontinueinthatrole,

c.) Notbeaspouse,partnerorimmediatefamilyoftheprincipalitysuperiorofficer,

d.) NotserveasaContingencyDeputytomorethanoneofficewithoutthewrittenpermissionofbothsuperiorofficersandthePrincipalitySeneschal,

e.) Serveatthepleasureoftheirprincipalitysuperiorofficer.

f.) Maintainregularcommunication,encourageandassisttheirsubordinatebranchofficersanddeputiesintheperformanceoftheirrequireddutiestoensurethesmoothandefficientfunctioningofthePrincipality.

g.) Maintainstandardbusinesspractices,includingrespondingtotelephonecalls,e-mailcommunicationsandstandardmailwithinseventy-twohours(threedays).

h.) Appointdeputiesasdeemednecessaryforthefunctioningoftheiroffice.

i.) Followsuperiorofficers'lawfuldirectivesaslongastheyareincompliancewithSociety,KingdomandPrincipalityLawandPoliciesand/ordirectivesfromtheCrownorCoronet.AnydirectivethatconstitutesaconflictshallbereportedimmediatelytotheCrownorCoronet,

j.) Createrules,regulations,reportingstandardsandpolicyrelatingtotheirspecificoffice.Anysuchrules,regulations,reportingstandardsandpoliciesaresubjecttotheapprovalofandmodificationbytheirsuperiorofficer,theCrownand/orCoronetoftheSummits,

k.) BereimbursedforallowableexpensesasdefinedinthePrincipalityoftheSummits'FinancialPolicy,

l.) BeresponsibleforoverseeingtheirareaofresponsibilityatCoronetandPrincipalityEventsorassignanacceptablerepresentativetoactintheirstead,withtheapprovalofthePrincipalitySeneschalandconcurrenceoftheCoronet.

2.) ThePrincipalityExchequershallbeprovidedwithaWarrantofAppointmenttoFinancialOffice,dulysignedbytheKingdomExchequerandtheCoronet.

3.) OtherPrincipalityofficersarewarrantedbytheirKingdomsuperior.

4.) AllPrincipalityofficersshallpresenttheircurrentWarrantRosterforsignature,ateachCoronetInvestiture,fortheirspecificareaofover-sight,whichlistsallContingencyDeputies,BranchofficersandBranchContingencyDeputies.TheWarrantRosteristobesignedbythePrincipalityofficerandtheCoronetandkeptinthePrincipalityOfficers'files.

ARTICLEIII.G RemovalfromOffice
