Michael Keys has left our Club with his transfer to the Rotary Club of Batemans Bay – we wish him well with his new Club. Our Board meeting was last week–we accepted Roni Corne’s resignation as Secretary and as a member of the Board. Trent Baxter was elected to the Board as Secretary and Youth Liaison and Natalie Jupe was elected as Public Officer forNSW Fair Trading. Some wonderful news came through last week– Natalie nominated our Club for a grant from the ‘100 Community Heroes Campaign’ and we are to receive $1000 fora backyard blitz at the Queanbeyan Renal Unit. The Calwell, Curtin, Jerrabomberra and Wanniassa Community Bank branches have run this campaign in honour oftheir 10 th anniversary and Canberra’s centenary. The presentation is to be made on 31 July at Jerrabomberra Village Shopping Centre. Wow. Trent likes to extend himself– he is doing the City2Surf in Sydney on Sunda y 11 August–14 kms! He is hoping/planning to run for the ‘Create Foundation’ – if he can raise $1,000 for them before he runs then does not pay the entry fee of $300. ‘Create Foundation’ is a national charity which supports children and young people in out-of-home care (approximately 40,000) with programs and advocacy. Looks like Trent is going to be very busy during the next few weeks and would appreciate yoursupport.

President’s Report from Kristin Ballard
Our speaker from the Monaro Crime Prevention Unit talked to us about Safety for Seniors on the 3rd - I think we all learned something very useful from the night.
Michael Keys has left our Club with his transfer to the Rotary Club of Batemans Bay – we wish him well with his new Club.
Our Board meeting was last week – we accepted Roni Corne’s resignation asSecretary and as a member of the Board. Trent Baxter was elected to the Board asSecretary and Youth Liaison and Natalie Jupe was elected as Public Officer for NSW Fair Trading.
Some wonderful news came through last week – Natalie nominated our Club for a
grant from the ‘100 Community Heroes Campaign’ and we are to receive $1000 for a backyard blitz at the Queanbeyan Renal Unit. The Calwell, Curtin, Jerrabomberraand Wanniassa Community Bank branches have run this campaign in honour of their 10th anniversary and Canberra’s centenary. The presentation is to be made on31 July at Jerrabomberra Village Shopping Centre. Wow.
Trent likes to extend himself – he is doing the City2Surf in Sydney on Sunday 11 August – 14 kms! He is hoping/planning to run for the ‘Create Foundation’ – if hecan raise $1,000 for them before he runs then does not pay the entry fee of $300.‘Create Foundation’ is a national charity which supports children and young peoplein out-of-home care (approximately 40,000) with programs and advocacy. Nerida has made the next level in the family hierarchy – she has become a Grannywith the birth of Xavier Leonard Dean at 21.08 on Saturday 13 July – 8lbs 7ozs(3.8kgs) & 49cm – Mum and baby doing well. Congratulations to all.
Rae de Britt’s funeral was on Monday 15 July – Father Peter Day conducted a
beautiful service for his friend. Rae was asked by our Club to provide a quote for painting the older part of Home in Queanbeyan before it was finished and he did for free and got Karabar Hardware to donate the paint for it – we presented him with aCommunity Award at our changeover in June 2010. He will be truly missed by all of us and the Queanbeyan community.
Bill had an angiogram on Monday – had one blood vessel unblocked and a stentinserted – a great relief for both of us. Thank you all for the good wishes.
