In order to determine the definitepercentage of used recycled contentin your product, we map the chainof production. Based on the finalfabric composition and confirmedpercentage of recycled content, wecalculate the environmental savings(impact reduction) of the appliedrecycled content in the raw material.

The calculated environmental impactreduction is expressed in the savingson water consumption, CO2 emissionsand energy usage.

The method is based on a Life-CycleAssessment (LCA) approach*, whichconsiders the substitution of (virgin)raw materials with recycled materials.

*REMOkey® calculates the environmental savings in terms of CO2eq emissions, energy and water consumption.The calculation is based on a Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach, which considers only the replacement of the raw material with recycled material. This analysis is carried out using the ‘Modint Ecotool’ software, developedby CE Delft, based on generally accepted LCA databases, international studies, literature and company data.

1. Global Recycled Standard requires a minimum of 20% recycled content.

2. Recycled Claim Standard requires a minimum of 5% recycled content.

Building credibility requires independent identificationand determination. The fundamental basis for this aretextile sector standards that verify and independentlyaudit the content of specific input materials, such asGRS1 (Global Recycled Standard) and RCS2 (RecycledClaim Standard). These standards are based on ‘inputand chain-of-custody’ verification by independent thirdparties and organisations.

TRACE• Certification for preventing counterfeiting, falsification, data protection etc. 231 (Italy) - Loi Sapin (France) - Ley Organica (Spain) or Other (based on country)

CHEM• Evidence of Chemical Management System (CMS including ZDHC requirements) Brand: ZDHC Contributor/Signatory Brand Manufacturer: CMS documents or 4sustainability CMS Protocol implementation

• Evidence of on-site audits at subcontractors for CMS implementation (KPI)

In the 4S assessment you will be asked to provide us with a number ofdocuments which can be uploaded in the questionnaire. Not all of theasked certifications and documents are mandatory* in order to qualifyfor the REMOkey service, but we value a general company assessment.To help you prepare in advance, we will give a short checklist of thetypes of documents that will be requested in the different segments.

* GRS or RCS certification is a mandatory requirement for REMOkey
