NOARK, Northwest Arkansas Human Resources Association, Inc. is dedicated to providing an avenue for the advancement of
human resource management by offering members the opportunities and resources to improve their ability to perform in the human
resource industry, the community, and - through the affiliation with the Society for Human Resource Management - the nation. With
the leadership of President Elizabeth Farmer, PHR and her BOARD, 2013 was a stellar year for NOARK.
On a national level, NOARK was award the national Pinnacle Award for Why NOARK? Which was a strategic plan to increase
and retain membership. The Pinnacle Award Program is designed to recognize outstanding achievements in chapter/state council
development and contributions to the advancement of effective human resource management. Winning programs in this category
reflect excellence in providing programs and services that support SHRM, meet members needs, or further the chapter or state
council efforts.
This achievement was just one of many for 2013. Each year NOARK recognizes a few special people for their outstanding achievements
in the HR field during the December chapter meeting. And the winners are:
Pillar Award awarded toa long-standing member of NOARK who consistently makes an impact on the HR Community through theiractive participation - Cathleen Hoffman, SPHR
There are very few individual NOARK or SHRM members who would be more deserving of the Pillar Award than Cathleen Hoffman.
Ever since she first began as a member on a committee and then moved to a chair position and then on to an officer to State Council,
Cathleen has always gone above and beyond the expectations. She recently accepted the role of chapter administrator and continues
to demonstrate her commitment to NOARK and the HR profession. When looking at her accomplishments, the list is endless: 2006
NOARK Rising Star Award; 2008 NOARK HR Professional of the Year Award;
2008 NOARK President Award; 2011 ARSHRM Arkansas Outstanding HR Professional of the Year Award
She has been, and will continue to be, a model member that we look up to and hope others will emulate.
HR Professional of the Year - awarded toan individual that has shown outstanding service and has promoted the profession of
Human Resources Management - Cammie Scott, SPHR
Cammie Scott has been a beacon of hope for the HR professional this year. Her commitment to keeping the
members of NOARK knowledgeable about whats been going on in Washington and in our state, politically, has been
outstanding! Throughout the community, she has spoken as an HR professional, and as a NOARK member, and hastruly captured the attention of her audiences. When you think about a true advocate for HR, Cammie truly personifies it.
Committee of the Year - awarded tothe NOARK committee that made the biggest impact toward Advancing the Profession and
Serving the Professional. - Membership Committee chaired by Brent Carroll, PHR
The NOARK Membership Committee has made huge strides this year in assisting the NOARK Chapter in becoming the largest SHRM
chapter in the state. As a result of their efforts, NOARK has seen SHRM Membership and monthly meeting attendance rise. The
Membership Committee has set the foundation for great success this year and years to come.
NOARK Member of the Year Award tothe member whose contributions and participation made a high impact on the NOARK
organization. Kimberly McGee, PHR.
As the chair of her committee, Kimberly McGee created NOARK history with the first Managers Conference. This task was not easy
and required a lot of planning, diligence and persistence. The results spoke for themselves. There were over 120 participants in
attendance, which enabled NOARK to educate and equip many managers with the skills they need to be successful. Kimberly, along
with her committee, was able to set the path of success for years to come.
Rising Star awarded tothe NOARK member who has demonstrated the potential to be an impact on the HR community - Marc
Campbell, PHR
Marc Campbell, while not a new NOARK member, stepped up this year to lead the NOARK Wage and Benefits Committee when the
previous chair had to relocated with her family. Marc, along with his committee, persisted and kept the process moving along. The
survey sales are up this year thanks to Marcs leadership efforts.
