Mr. Lewis’ Jedi Times - Episode XXIII THE JEDI TIMES Episode XXIII February 26, 2016 Episode XXIII: WaterWorld Some time ago 3 rd graders began their scientific unit on buoyancy, and that knowledge has expanded to points beyond impressiveness. Through the building of clay and foil boats, and the experimenting with various liquids, students have solidified their understanding of the properties of buoyancy. Our final sub-unit will cover the states of water (properties of matter) and the concept of the water cycle . Using hands on manipulatives, an engaging experiment, and the power of the scientific method, students will learn all about the water cycle and see major elements of the water cycle in play this week. Be sure to ask your padawan learner about the properties of matter (specifically water) and how that relates to the water cycle itself.
