Navajo symbol of the ‘Mask of the Black God.’

The 7 ‘white dots’ represent the Pleiades star cluster (Dilyehe), their most sacred constellation. It is depicted on the ‘left cheek’ of the Black God (night sky) ; and it is to the Navajo the microcosmic symbol of the ‘orderly’ universe ; as well as a seasonal indicator and time keeper.
