Robert Kahn (1972) - exhibits the first public demonstration of the ARPANET at the International Computer Communication Conference.

SNDMSG and READMAIL - Ray Tomlinson Internet RootsNational Science Foundation - linked 5 supercomputer centers and called it NSFNET.

ARPANET splits in two separate entities: MILNET to serve the needs of national defense and military communication; ARPANET which is primarily utilized by academics and researchers.
